“Excellent cruise experience... on a rainy day!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2013

Unlike some reviewers here, we had a great experience with the crew and the boat. We went out on Saturday May 18, 2013 from 11:00 am until 1:30 EST. BE AWARE that Chattanooga is on Eastern time, not central time like most of TN is. So make sure you remember that if you're coming in from the west part of the state like we did (Cumberland Gap area). It's a 77 foot cabin cruiser that's comfortable, modern and provides very good visibility inside or out on the deck. It's as smooth as velvet as it navigates the river through Chattanooga. The crew asked us if we were too warm or cold inside the cabin and adjusted the temperature accordingly. They provided a great southern style BBQ with pulled pork and pulled chicken plus some traditional sides and a desert. Very nicely done, too. So, "when in Rome, do as the Romans do". When in Dixie adjust accordingly. It's how you look at life, really. Do you see your own cup as half empty... or half full?

“Cinco de Mayo Cruise”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2013

Was very unhappy with this cruise! My sister camein from Chicago and we drove up here from Birmingham, Al. They avertised this crew as a Cinco de Mayo Cruise with food and entertainment. We boarded the ship went to top deck ordered a drink and befor we had even left dock they came and told us the food was already set up down stairs to eat. There was not very much variety or food but I will say what they did have was good. There was entertainment, decoration the only information the captain gave out about the surroundings was there was some deer on the bank. About 30 minutes into the cruise one of the crew turned the A.C. on it was only 50 degrees and raining,we had jackets on and told them we were cold nothing was done about the air so my sister got up and turned the heat on herself.

“Superb!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2013

This cruise is not to be missed! We just experienced our 5th different cruise. Each is unique providing a natural backdrop that includes the often overlooked eagles, herons, ospreys, etc. The staff are consistly helpful and friendly. Capt. Dave provides a wealth of history of the area in a manner that is interesting and surely beats reading a book. He always points out all types of fowl and animals for passengers to see. The food (included in the price of the excursion) is excellent and plentiful. The Blue Moon is an wonderful venue for all ages.

“Great Cruise and Sandhill Cranes”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

We took the 10AM cruise through the Hiwassee Nature Preserve last weekend, and it was much better than anyone expected. The boat is comfortable, with large windows on the enclosed lower deck for viewing, and a nice open area at the front of the ship and the deck above.

On our cruise we saw sandhill cranes, at least 6 bald eagles, as well as many blue herons, cormorants, wild turkeys, kingfishers, gulls (ring billed, bonaparte's, and herring) and many more.

The lunch was excellent - BBQ sandwiches and all the fixings. We will definitely try to come back next year.
