“waste of time and money”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2010

this is a joke of an attraction. first off the sites are not that good unless you like seeing ghetto houses. I am not rich by any means but to pay money to ride something that is only showing houses that are worth less than mine and in terrible shape, it was like the mountain ghetto.
you go up and down and at the bottom there is not much to see or do, except get ice cream. The top is much more beautiful but you need quarters to park, as the meters only take quarters but that is it go up and down and into gift shops, not worth your time or money go somewhere else like Rock City.

“Not scary at all...such a beautiful view!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2010

The railway was fun and takes you to the top of the mountain where you can check out the city of Chattanooga and further. My suggestion would be to start at the bottom and ride the railway to the top rather than driving to the top and riding the railway down, you'll appreciate the ride and the view much better. It took us about an hour to ride, check out the gift shop, take pictures and take in the view, then ride down. You can get a package deal with Rock City and Ruby Falls too.

“Beautiful Mountain”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2010

We visited Lookout Mountain at the end of March. The weather was beautiful and we really enjoyed the ride on the Incline railway. We purchased a combo ticket package and would recommend that package to anyone. We ate lunch at a restaraunt at Shapiros Deli, it is next door to the incline, and it had the best hamburgers we have had in a long time.

“An experience..”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2010

Rock City was closed so we decided to take our 2 small children (2,5) on the incline. It was nothing exciting for either one of us but was an experience. The $1 to park was actually exciting as everywhere else we went was about $8. I don't remember how much it cost to ride the incline but how ever much it was it wasn't worth it. If you want to experience it you can look at my pic's.

“It's neat but not to neat.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 16, 2009

.I visited on 12/16/09. The round trip is 14 dollars a person. My boyfriend and I went. The ride up is nice. 72% grade incline. So the ride up and down is fun and it is quite the thrill. But once you get to the top there is nothing to do. You pretty much just ride up and back down. and 14 a person is a little much for that. But over all it was good. The place was pretty run down but it has been there well over 100 years.
