“Not Bad”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2010

Pictures are pretty true, but rooms are much smaller than they appear. But was a nice hotel and very nice people. Pet friendly for sure, there were dogs everywhere. Hotel was very close to highway and easy to find. Lots of stuff to do in the area, even though it was just a stop for us on our way to Florida.

We stayed in this motel for one night on our way to Florida. For an overnight stay when you're on the road this place is perfect. Clean enough for one night's comfort, room in good shape, good bed, wireless internet, etc. Thankfully, we experienced none of the problems some other supposedly did (and we're fairly picky as well). And, I got the room on the internet for a paltry $45. In the past, I've paid $75 or more for similar rooms at other chains.

On the down side - the rooms, while clean enough for general comfort, may not be up to the standards of clean freaks who search for perfection in a room that costs under $50. Also, the room we had was small. Not Microtel small, but not too much larger than that. I did also have to crawl under the desk to plug my laptop in - it would be nice to have an outlet at desk level.

The bathroom was almost repulsive; the toilet seat had who-knows-what on it, the shower curtain had toothpaste on it, the bottom of the bathtub was completely gray and scummy looking, and there was no bar soap by the tub or sink (we had to go down and ask for some). The blankets on the beds were all pilled up, there were smudges/marks on our walls, and the door to our room was all wonky from being kicked in (by cops, perhaps?). I thought this would be a hotel, not a motel - our door opened up to the outside. Plus there were no elevators and we had to haul all of our stuff up to the second floor (not what we felt like doing after being on the road for 12 hours). Also assumed that the pool would be indoors; wrong again. Bottom line: they charge way too much for what they are offering here. The only positive things I can say are that they are a pet friendly hotel, the staff was pleasant, we slept soundly, and our room was well stocked with clean towels.

Staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean, decent, quiet, good beds. Breakfast ok, but could be better, the usual muffins, bagels, waffles out of plastic plates and cuttlery, which you find in all places of this level/price, one gets used to it, but keeps hoping it will improve. I did like they offered a newspaper in the breakfast room and have a computer with wifi available for guests.
Good location if you are coming to visit Lookout Mountain.

Staff very accomodationg about working with us to check in a bit early. Hotel did seem a bit shabby for La Quinta. Bathroom not so clean, and linens shabby . Nice pool area.

This hotel was excellent for our 4 day 3 night stay. We wanted to spend our money on attractions, so we went for a less expensive hotel. We booked two rooms through priceline and were able to book for $35 a night. We have stayed here before a few years ago and things haven't changed much. The beds were VERY COMFORTABLE and the pillow were extra fluffy. Everything seemed clean. The staff was super nice!! They were able to make a few changes to our reservation and made everything perfect! The rooms were adequate. We had plenty of space for our pack n play for the baby and still had ample space to move and play in the rooms. The pool was nice and clean. Breakfast was good-fruit, cereal, waffles, yogurt, juice. This hotel is convenient to tons of restaurants and only a 10 mile drive to downtown chattanooga. Sure, we could have booked a nicer place, but we just planned on sleeping here, so it worked for us. I do recommend this hotel to anyone wanted an inexpensive stay in a clean, friendly hotel.

Our athletic team stayed at this motel during a recent tournament. If our whole team hadn't been there, my family would have left after day 1. We received housekeeping service one time during our stay. We were not in the room, as we were at the ball fields all day, so that couldn't have been the problem. We had to remove our own trash and go to the office daily for towels. They did not give us washcloths, however, as they said they "were out." If I hadn't brought my own from home "just in case" we would have been completely without. Also, the pool is supposed to close at 10 p.m. but guests are allowed to stay much longer and party if they choose. Therefore, if your room is near the pool you will have a hard time getting any sleep. Another member of our group called to complain, but the lady at the desk said she couldn't come and close it because she was the only one there and had to stay and answer the phone.
