“Spur of the moment”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2013

We decided at 915am to take a road trip to surprise our daughter for her “21st” birthday. A friend recommended we try Main Stay, so we gave it a try. What a nice place, very clean from the lobby to the room. When I arrived in my room after driving 7 hours from SC I was very pleased. The staff was great; the continental breakfast was more than continental it was like a buffet. We only spent one night but the comfort of the room, cleanliness of the entire facility and the staff will be the reason we book again in the fall.

Stopped here overnight on my way to FL. I was apprehensive about staying based on some of the prior reviews but didn't have their same experience. I really liked the kitchenette with a regular size frig. Yes, the building isn't new and there are some signs of wear (scuff marks on the doors and walls mostly and dings on the frig door) but the carpeting and bedding in the room appeared new. Breakfast included hot oatmeal with raisins, almonds and brown sugar in addition to the usual waffles and hardboiled eggs. It was a quiet hotel in a quiet area, but still within walking distance to several restaurants and right off I-75.

This was not our first choice for the area. The outside fasade drew us in.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were surprisingly roomy and comfortable. Our room was a queen suite and had a kitchenette, a vanity area outside the bathroom. A desk area and a sleeper sofa was also in the room. Wall outlets were plentiful and convenient. A full sized iron and ironing board were in the closet. This hotel even gives you real glassware to use. The only complaint was that when asking for a military rate...I was given 99 cents off of the price. The normal rate was, however very reasonable. Breakfast was hot, available and prepared well. Checkout was easy. Overall great hotel stay.

Didn't use the mini-kitchen; might another time because the breakfast was basic and got old fast (stayed 5 days). Room small; don't know if the place has connecting rooms...wouldn't stay here with my extended family unless they did! And no pool is a disadvantage for families.

We did like that the room had a thermostat.

Management pleasant. Be forewarned that rooms are cleaned only once a week unless you ask for light housekeeping (bed made, fresh towels). The system is that you call a certain extension by 9 AM to get on a list, but in our case the answering machine didn't pick up our request and the towels never came! Were given towels/extra soap by front desk when we asked late that night.

We are moving from Chattanooga at the end of May. We sold our house back in April (much quicker than expected). We knew it would be wise to save $$, since we would be spending the next 7 weeks in a hotel as a family....it's my husband, myself and our 2 children. After a terrible experience at Extended Stay America(which lasted a month since Extended Stay would not refund any of our money that we had paid up front for a month's stay), a friend referred us to MainStay Suites. I was hesitant about calling because of their "no pet" policy. We also have our little toy poodle. Deanne was so sweet and after hearing our situation, she not only gave us a great deal, but let us keep our little pup with us! She's very clean and small.

This place was such a nice surprise! The room is very clean and comfortable. It smells good in the room. They provide a continental breakfast too, which is very good. My kids love the waffles! The hotel is in a great location, close to everything. The best thing about the hotel though is their staff! Very nice people. You don't get that just anywhere! We would definitely stay here again!

I live out of town and occasionally get to pile up here to spend time with girlfriends! We had connecting rooms which was great! There are couches and kitchens in the rooms which allowed us just to hang out and spend some great time together. Love the new carpet! Randy at the front office is super!! He is very friendly and it makes for a pleasant stay when people are kind to their customers. The beds are clean and they offer a free breakfast with waffles.

Hotel staff was friendly and great breakfast. Randy was so awesome I will be back! The kitchen in the room made it great as we didn't feel like going out the first night. Next door to grocery store made it a breeze
