“We liked it...”

Comfort Suites Chattanooga

Cons:
* Hallways REALLY hot, even in March
* Our fridge didn't work and the man at the desk acted like we were stupid....... asked at first if we had turned it on??? Then when we indicated that we had, in fact, turned it on and additionally we had checked to see if it was plugged in.... he said he'd take care of it. We went to eat and came back.... he said he "fixed it"....... "by turning it on" .... :o( So we went upstairs and it was NOT, in fact, working!!! We complained again and he said nothing could be done until the next day..... So we went out that next morning and came back a bit before lunch and inquired if it had been taken care of? "Not yet" It DID eventually get taken care of, but it was irksome!!!
* Rather noisy, but we had an ocean sound machine to take care of that....
* The area LOOKED unsafe and we almost didn't stay once we saw that.... however, we had no troubles during our entire stay! (that may be a pro???)
* No 24 hour coffee supply........ which was only a problem for my husband...
* Itty bitty breakfast space to eat in...... which ended up okay as my hubby and son brought breakfast up to the room for me after the first day!

Pros:

* The room was large, bright and clean.
* Air conditioner worked really well.
* The breakfast was a hit with my teen son who loved the wafflemaker.... and there was enough variety that everyone was happy.
* In the evenings the pool was full of people having a blast... good if you have little kids!
* We had the best maid ever.... Trecia. (I'd ask for a room assigned to her.....)
* If you had somewhere to go, they printed you out custom directions to that location and back to the hotel.
* We loved the beds. They were VERY comfortable and we slept soundly.
* The hotel is actually centrally located to everything.... you can't walk to any of it, but it is easy to get anywhere.
* Plenty of shampoo, conditioner, soap etc. supplied, and the towels were folded in a fancy fan shape.
* The drawers were completely clean inside, (I checked with a Lysol wipe) and I put my clothing in there with no qualms.

* Best Pro of all: No pets allowed.... so the carpet was exceptionally clean and I had no problems walking around in my socks, which remained white!!!

I was a bit concerned about reviews as several said that it was not in a very good neighbourhood. It is directly on an interstate exit and the area is fine, but indeed there is nowhere to walk from the hotel.

Reviewers complained about the maze of one-way streets, and it is a bit tricky the first couple of times in, but soon you just realize that you need to go one block further away to get headed the direction you wish. It's no big deal.

The hotel is very conveniently located within 5 minutes of downtown, Chattanooga Choo Choo, Aquarium, Incline Railway, Ruby Falls, and the road up Lookout Mountain to Rock City.

Our room had a king size bed and a jacuzzi which was deep, fast filling with powerful jets right in the bedroom. The place was clean and bright and very good value for the money.

The indoor pool was clean and warm and there were towels placed on all the chairs in the area. It should be noted that there is no hot tub in the pool area.

Staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast was typical Comfort Suites with fruit, waffle maker, hardboiled eggs and different strengths of coffee.

Chattanooga has lots to see and do and this was a very good location.

My husband and I, along with our 6 month old, stayed at this property for 3 nights. The hotel is exactly what I expected. It looks nice on the inside, but once you get in, it looks like a $60-$70/nt hotel. The paper was peeling off the wall in the bathroom and the sheets were older than me. The area surrounding the hotel is really run down and industrial looking. My husband and I wish we would have forked out $20 more per night and stayed downtown!!! It would have been more than worth it!
The room was ok until it started to rain. We woke up to a wet floor and water leaking into the window unit from the window. So we packed up and moved down the hall (not a small feat with a 6 month old and all his belongings!!). Just as we were leaving the old room, with the last of our stuff, the front desk calls to inform us that the shower in the new room was not working. A room attendant was on the way with new room keys. The 3rd room of the morning was livable. It was very damp and muggy feeling so we turned the AC on and the prob was solved. However the window unit in this room was poorly put together and you could see daylight around the edges. The hotel did take a night off for our troubles. We would not stay here again though. Beware of the saying, its so true! YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!

Chattanooga was WONDERFUL! We did all the touristy things and I honestly cannot choose a favorite. The people were extremely helpful where ever we went, especially with my son. What a wonderful place for a new family to visit.

We had to settle on this hotel since the Riverbend Festival was in town and all the hotels downtown were booked. It was only going to be a 2 nighter but we ended up staying just one night. The bed was very uncomfortable, especially for my wife, who's had back surgery and still has lots of problems with it.The mattress needed replacing,I think....because it's shaped like a bowl, and dips in the middle. No matter how close to the edge you would get,it would eventually roll you to the middle. So if you like sleeping in a pile, intentional or not, room 108 might be for you.
If you're into walking or strolling around and leaving the car at the hotel----forget that. You need to go to a more downtown hotel that's well lit and actually has restaurants and something to do nearby. You could walk down to the KFC down the street but you might get asked "can I borrow a dolla? " before you get there. So just skip that meal and call in pizza delivery and watch HBO or something.
No other problems encountered.

PROS:
The staff were friendly and always asked were we enjoying our stay.
The continental breakfast includes a wafflemaker.
We were on the third floor and our bed and the dressers was new, however not the sofa sleeper.
The room was clean anad especially the bathroom, everything was so white.
There were abot 90 channels on the television to watch.
Close to Chattanooga Choo Choo and the heart of downtown.
Easy to get on the interstate.

CONS:
Bathroom small.
Heated pool should have been warmer.
TV volume is set to not be turned up after a certain point which mnakes it difficult to hear when A/C unit is on and it is set to cut off after a while if you do not press a button.
Street that runs in front of the hotel comes off the interstate and you have to really hit the gas to get out but usually not a lot of traffic

Overall, I would definately stay again. Service was great and room was super clean.
