“We'll worth the time and money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2013

We visited Ruby falls while in Chattanooga over a long weekend and really enjoyed the experience. You literally travel over 1000 feet under ground, traversing a cave system that comes out at the falls. This is not an attraction for the claustrophobic. This attraction is a guided tour with lights and various historical references along the way.

This is really the only attraction I would waste my time on at Lookout mountain. The other things are a waste of time.

“It was worth it once, but not twice, be ready to take a picture though”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2013

There was more hype to it then what we saw. It was nice and cool down there, interesting walk to get to the falls. Only catch is it is dark in there, and they only turn the lights on for a few minutes and then that's it. Maybe 5 minutes tops, and they are colored lights swirling around so it's hard to see it well or to get a good picture. And if you have a large group (like 20 or more) be ready to force people to move around so you can get a picture of you and your group in front of it before the lights go out. Because once the lights are out that's it your done and they lead you back out. They are all about the money too, you come back out in the gift shop where they graciously offer to sell your picture for obscene pricing. They do have a nice observatory deck on top with beautiful views of Chattanooga and the river. One more note the mountain people (as the Ruby Falls Staff calls them) are crazy drivers and visibility is bad right there. So be very careful crossing the street to get to the falls building, NO KIDDING!

“Great stop, a must see for cave lovers”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2013

My daughter and I have visited many caves all along the East Coast. Ruby Fall has been one of the nicer caves we visited. The waterfall is a must see for cave lovers.

“Worth the hike”

This a 1.5 mile hike underground. I enjoyed the time with the guide group dynamics. Martin made it cool.

“Fun cave excusion + a water fall”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2013

Ruby Falls is a great side trip if you are in the Chattanooga area for a visit. After reading some of the reviews online, it appears that people really have HIGH expectations for this attraction. First lets start off by pointing out that the main draw is the water fall itself. It is quite impressive and the owners have enhanced it by adding lights. 5 minutes at the water fall may seem short, but if it were 10 minutes or more...I feel it would have gotten old really fast. The journey to and from the Ruby Falls is a treat in itself. I enjoy caves as they are all different. There were some narrow passages and some unique formations along the way. Tip: Go early to beat the crowds if you don't like alot of people on a tour with you.
