“Wonderful atmosphere & Great breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2011

I have stayed in this hotel several times and have really enjoyed it. The plethora of historical pictures/artifacts are fun to look at as you're walking up and down the halls, the fresh baked cookies are comforting when you're away from home and the breakfast selection each morning is much better than any other continental breakfasts I've ever had. The employees are always friendly and the rooms are clean and comfortable. But I also have to say I love the llamas that they have on the property. It's so unique to see them walking around the hills behind the hotel that I always stop and watch them for a few minutes. Whether you're looking for a place to stay for the night or a week I would highly recommend this hotel.

Reserved this hotel from my smartphone on the road. The mobile site was easy to navigate. The hotel was well signed to be found from I-75. Room was adequately clean and check in was friendly and efficient. Breakfast was well stocked and typical Hampton. Llamas live on property and it was fun to see them outside our window.

We live in South Carolina and travel to Indiana several times a year to visit family. We found this hotel a couple years ago and always stay here on the way. It used to be a family-run motel and they have memorabilia all over the hotel. The original owner's son came in while we were having breakfast and told us the history of the place. Very clean, reasonable rates and great service.

The view of Cove Lake is lovely and the hotel is charming. There are numerous photographs and articles of local history in the hotel that give it local character and are fun to read. The property was clean, had a good breakfast, and the staff were helpful and friendly. Caryville is a small town in a remote area of Tennessee, but this is a great place to stay if you are in the La Follette, Jacksboro, Lake Norris area.

While the hotel and rooms are okay, this was most definitely NOT even close to worth the 100$ a room. Rooms were musty smelling. Carpet was sticky. Needs serious updating. Not at all what you expect from a hampton. If I had been paying 50 a night, this is what I would expect. No fridges in room either. Beds not comfortable.
I don't understand the reviews of the others.....

Arrived without reservations . The room was up to the standard expected at Hampton Inn but the decor was outstanding. The History of the area was displayed on the walls in the halls. Just beautiful. We had a small balcony overlooking the mountiains. Service staff was very cordial and helpful. what more can i say this place has it all

Let me say right up front that this is an older Hampton Inn, and it is a little beaten up around the edges. Not too bad, and as I always say, even a bad Hampton is usually better than most other places. But you will see signs of wear and tear and the dirty look that comes with it. As I said, this wasn't too bad, and overall I was very happy with the quality of my room.

But this is not so much a motel as it is a museum and tourist attraction in its own right. The owner's grandfather was a moonshiner, and he has photos of him practicing his craft, as well as photos of him being carted off to jail. The motel is located on a bluff overlooking a lake, and the hillside is fenced, with several llamas roaming around. You have to look for the llamas, though. They are away from the motel and are not offensive in any way.

The halls are lined with all sorts of political memorabilia. There is a deck overlooking the lake, and chairlift chairs have been converted into stationary seats to enjoy the view. There are tables set up to enjoy an outside breakfast, and the breatfast was quite good. Service was friendly.

I simply can't recommend this place highly enough. You will want to make a lazy morning of it so you can enjoy the place with your children. They might learn a little history just walking the halls!
