After being indiscriminately denied lodging at the Doubletree we were routed to Brentwood. The front desk staff were less than hospitable (WE were the ones who should have been miserable!). The room was, however, very spacious, clean and comfortable. Hilton beds are THE best! (bar none) Great pillows (6x) King size, non-smoking, first floor suite. Free parking, courtesy shuttle (5 mile radius) to shopping. Not much within walking distance and no provision for on-premise outdoor lounging. No benches, chairs, sidewalks dispite very attractive/spacious grounds. Some road noise will get through from I65, as strange as that might sound, so eventhough it's in a seemingly residential neighborhood, it's not cow-country quiet! Renovations being made negated the in-lobby convenience store, so if you get the munchies, you'll be SOL. (Harris Teeter grocery is too far to walk in bedroom slippers, but makes an absolutely GREAT place to shop for foodstuffs!) No ice machine 1st floor (see the barkeep, he was the only friendly soul we met there). In-room menu at reasonable prices for good selection of items. Two 21in. LG tv's with marginal satellite service. Weather Channel has satellite feed, although no local conditions are fed in. Lobby restaurant provides a decent breakfast buffet with limited choice for $8.95. Fully self-serve so no wasted time and very convenient. Although there is a Sonic burger within walking distance (a short block away). Pool and jacuzzi both very well maintained as is gym, equipment basically new as of this writing. Our five night stay @ $129+ garnered one complimentary USA Today. Express check-out is convenient. Several in-room calls to the front desk went unanswered (at various day/early evening times). Housekeeping employees were very courteous and well trained. We ran out of tissues and shampoo after the first night, but after asking, were well stocked after that. The in-room fridge and microwave were a welcomed addition, clean and convenient for heating leftovers. No complimentary beverages, cookies, mints etc. For Hilton personnel, the front desk staff could be more friendly and accommodating. We won't be returning to Nashville. Based upon our unfortunate experience with Hilton, there are more deserving locations that will appreciate our hard-earned travel dollars.
