“Doubletree Downtown to the Suites of Brentwood”

Hilton Suites Brentwood

After being indiscriminately denied lodging at the Doubletree we were routed to Brentwood. The front desk staff were less than hospitable (WE were the ones who should have been miserable!). The room was, however, very spacious, clean and comfortable. Hilton beds are THE best! (bar none) Great pillows (6x) King size, non-smoking, first floor suite. Free parking, courtesy shuttle (5 mile radius) to shopping. Not much within walking distance and no provision for on-premise outdoor lounging. No benches, chairs, sidewalks dispite very attractive/spacious grounds. Some road noise will get through from I65, as strange as that might sound, so eventhough it's in a seemingly residential neighborhood, it's not cow-country quiet! Renovations being made negated the in-lobby convenience store, so if you get the munchies, you'll be SOL. (Harris Teeter grocery is too far to walk in bedroom slippers, but makes an absolutely GREAT place to shop for foodstuffs!) No ice machine 1st floor (see the barkeep, he was the only friendly soul we met there). In-room menu at reasonable prices for good selection of items. Two 21in. LG tv's with marginal satellite service. Weather Channel has satellite feed, although no local conditions are fed in. Lobby restaurant provides a decent breakfast buffet with limited choice for $8.95. Fully self-serve so no wasted time and very convenient. Although there is a Sonic burger within walking distance (a short block away). Pool and jacuzzi both very well maintained as is gym, equipment basically new as of this writing. Our five night stay @ $129+ garnered one complimentary USA Today. Express check-out is convenient. Several in-room calls to the front desk went unanswered (at various day/early evening times). Housekeeping employees were very courteous and well trained. We ran out of tissues and shampoo after the first night, but after asking, were well stocked after that. The in-room fridge and microwave were a welcomed addition, clean and convenient for heating leftovers. No complimentary beverages, cookies, mints etc. For Hilton personnel, the front desk staff could be more friendly and accommodating. We won't be returning to Nashville. Based upon our unfortunate experience with Hilton, there are more deserving locations that will appreciate our hard-earned travel dollars.

I took my wife To the Brentwood Hilton Suites for a night away from the kids. I booked the romance package which included a bottle of wine and breakfast buffet tickets. Upon arrival the staff was curteous and helpful. Our room, as promised, had a decent bottle of red wine which retails for around 13.00 at any wine store. The room itself was good. Not excellent, but good. It felt a little 1990's to me but the bed was great and the bathroom was large. The decor was old school but it was overall a good room. As far as the sleeping, it was noisy. Trains passed several times throughout the night and other guests could be heard outside of our room. The breakfast buffet was great with a large selection of items. I totally recommend it. I would definitely stay here again it was a good experience.

Not a good property for business travel. In-room internet connection was very sporadic and undependable to the point of frustration. "Business Center" was very small and there was a charge for internet use ($3.00 minimum).

Rooms are dated and need upgrading. Restaurant charges $1.50 for coffee plus $1.50 for each refill. Cocktail lounge very small and limited hours...not a very friendly bartender!

Location was good and bedding was very comfortable. Front desk personnel were friendly and effecient. Rumor is they are changing ownership and will be making changes; good decision!

“Cleanliness a problem.”

Hilton Suites Brentwood

The Hilton Suites, Brentwood, is your classic institutionalized hotel. The location is somewhat convenient, close to I65, but traffic in Nashville is bad.

The staff were nice and accomodating, pleasant.

The rooms are what I had a problem with. I reserved a smoking room and when I arrived at 3:00, they said all they had were non-smoking rooms. If you stay in a non-smoking room, you have to sign a letter stating that if you smoke in the room, they are going to put a $100.00 charge on your credit card.......

After 20 minutes they found me a smoking room and off I went. When I opened the door of the room, the smell just knocked me out! Not only the smell, but the room was HOT. I looked and saw the windows open, (an indication that the smell was a problem to them too). I went into the bathroom, and there were bugs in the bathtub and someone elses hair on the floor.

I went back to the front desk and another 20 minutes later, they found another room. Off I went again. The room was OK, but most of the lightbulbs were out.

The next morning, I went to make coffee in the provided mini coffee maker. I opened the coffee maker only to find used coffee grounds..... from someone else. Then I looked at the bar sink, and I don't know what was in it and didn't want to find out. Apparently, housekeeping had totally forgotten about this corner of the room when they cleaned it after the previous guests.

I would not put this hotel on the top of my list of hotels to stay in again, unless I was in a pinch.

“Good Experience”

Hilton Suites Brentwood

Stayed here for one night a few days ago. This is a very nice property, which could have been a great property with just a bit more attention to details by management and staff.
On the plus side:
Very nice two room suites - overall, well maintained.
Great beds - very comfortable, good quality linen, extra body pillow (this was a VERY appreciated feature)
Execellent value, for a rack rate stay. The night we were there, the charges were a little over $90 after taxes. Not as cheap as a Priceline stay, but not subject to any of the associated uncertainties, either.
On the minus side, really just a few minor things kept this property from being 5 stars:
When we checked in (wasn't busy, so not much of a wait), we were initially given a king bedded room for myself and my brother. When I heard them say king, I pointed out that my profile (I'm a Hilton HHonors Gold member) and my reservation specified two double and a switch was immediately made. No harm, no foul here.
When we got to our room, there was a very noticable high pitched whine coming out of the air conditioning system. I notified the front desk, who had a maintenace man come up promptly. Turned out to be something loose in the vent, and it was fixed withing half on hour.
One of the cable stations was very blurry (like double vision). Maintenance told be that it was a Cable issue and that nothing could be done until the following Monday (our stay was on a Friday). Not a big deal to me.
The soda machine was out of order on our side of the floor. Was told that it was a vendor responsibility and nothing could be done, etc., etc. Not a big deal, since I found one that worked on the other side of my floor.
We were unable to access the complimentary wireless internet connection in our room. I don't necessarily count this against them, since it could be user error.
Lastly, there were a couple of different sets of room service trays in front of rooms near ours when we checked in. They were still there when we checked out the next day. This was really the worst offense to me, because it shows inattentive management. Someone had to have noticed them when they slipped our receipt under the door, if not earlier.
Front desk personnel were adequate, but didn't seem overly motivated.
All in all, a solid 4 out of 5. Just a little polishing and this place could be a gem.
