“Great little find!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 13, 2014

This is a small, crowded place, but it was a great little find. The atmosphere is cozy and dark. I read that it was pretty crowded, and we went on a Wednesday night and were easily able to get reservations at 7pm, but it was busy all night. The menu isn't huge, but the food was very good. I loved the mussels, and our steaks were perfectly cooked. The prices were reasonable for a restaurant of this caliber. Our service was good, though not great, and the martini was not well made at all, but everything else was great. I will definitely go again when I'm in town, and just stick with wine!!

“Great neighborhood gem”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2014

Small somewhat crowded venue in a strip mall but with an intimate feel and great service. We had an early dinner at 6:30 on a cold night and the restaurant was packed. The food was excellent. The ribeye steak was perfectly cooked and a pasta dish I sampled was delicious. The wine list is quite adequate. I would recommend the Wild Iris for an excellent dining experience.

Had lunch - GREAT food and service. No wonder it was packed. Server was attentive although very busy - had a special salmon salad special that was excellent!

“Excellent mussels”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2014

Although I've reviewed Wild Iris before and loved it, I just had to compliment the mussels. A large bowl of tender mussels with a buttery seasoned sauce is just perfect for a light dinner for one or a great appetizer to share. My date didn't even care for mussels but loved these!
Don't miss their bread and olive oil. I don't know what they do to make theirs so much better than everyone else. Perhaps it's an excellent quality olive oil or maybe it's the balsamic vinegar. Either way I love it!

“everything 5-star here”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2013

Our first meal here, had 8 p.m. reservations on a rainy Saturday night, place was packed, but an early crowd as there were only a couple of tables occupied when we left around 9:30. Had a comfortable corner table in a smallish restaurant in a strip mall that with art and artistic touches has the feel of a much more sophisticated locale (not a slur on Brentwood, rather on strip mall). Acoustics are superior so that even with packed restaurant in small space we could hear ourselves clearly. But food is what it is all about, right? And our dinner was really special: split a special arugula salad with gruyere and roasted red peppers that sounded a bit more appealing than the arugula salad on regular menu. It was perfect, just enough complimentary tastes to add to wonderful arugula spiciness without detracting from it. For entrees my wife had the wild mushroom ravioli, which was ideal, creamy without being too rich and just the right taste combination of mushrooms, spinach, and cheese. I had the bouillabaise, an incredible seafood stew with mussels and fish and shrimp. Am not quite sure as to the difference between bouillabaise and ciopinno except for country of derivation, but call it what you want, this was as good a seafood stew as I have ever tasted. It was think with "stuff", a perfect spice level with rouille and toasted baguette. Could not have been better. We enjoyed an excellent reasonably priced Tempranillo with our meal and just as excellent cappucinos at the end of our meal. Lauren, our server, was pleasant and efficient. Total bill before tip was just under $100. We just really liked this place a lot; sometimes all the individual components are fine, but something is missing, Not at Wild Iris; we left with big smiles on our faces and plans to return when we next return to Nashville area.
