I got a special rate on this hotel through hotels.com and the description looked perfect: suite with a pull-out for Mom, double beds for my sister and me. And even a "whirlpool"!
I thought the suite would be more separated than it was - there was just a small partition between the living room area and the bedroom area. I guess that was my own ignorance. And the "whirlpool" was a bathtub with jets. I was picturing a Jacuzzi so I had to laugh at myself for that too.
The location is nice - Brentwood is a cute little part of Nashville, with really lovely homes and less lovely strip malls. I didn't mind being 20 minutes from downtown; it was relatively easy to find everything with our directions.
The breakfast was above average and I really liked that they gave us coffee mugs in our room so we didn't have to use styrofoam cups. The room was clean, including the bathroom. And the hotel has a fitness room, which I used and found adequate.
Now onto the bad stuff: noise. Thin walls. Thin ceilings. It sounded like the people above us were either 500 pounds, or having a dance-off, or both. I was going nuts with all the creaking as I was trying to sleep. We called the front desk and asked if the rep could ask them to be quieter. It worked for one night - and then the next night, the creaking started up again. It was really annoying. I blame the hotel, not the person above. For all I know, s/he was walking normally.
Also, the people in the room next door were talking and laughing, which really shouldn't have been a problem, but I could hear it as clearly as if they were standing next to my head. They also had their tv on - which I could also hear!
The noise problem at this hotel is incredible. I've never stayed at a place with such thin walls.
The reviews on hotels.com are all positive. I should have checked TripAdvisor before I booked!
All in all, we found the place pretty nice and we couldn't argue with the price. But we'd never stay here again because of the noise.
