“A Delightful Family Run Restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2012

We have been to this place about 20 times now at least, over 5 years. It is up the hill, just in Affionis, which is a beautiful spot about a miles from Agios Georgios. We have got to know the parents and children over many years. They all play their part in running the restaurant and speak excellent English. There is a lovely view down to the sea and nearby islands and one can sit outside and watch the swallows dive above your head.

The food is clean, very tasty and varied, cooked by the family. It would be possible to go there each lunchtime but we discipline ourselves to not do that. This is acceptable as there are some other super eating places, in the locality.

Personal favourites are the Moussaka, the local sausage dish and the beautifully fresh salads, but we have never eaten anything that is not excellent.

Last year, we ordered a packed meal for our return home and the family slipped in some of the family red wine, which made the airport seem acceptable. This year we had an equally lovely lunch but had already consumed the wine they gave us free a few days earlier!

For reference, there are also some excellent apartments here.

“Heaven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2012

If you have your own transport (and you should, as there's a lot to explore around Corfu) then this is a wonderful place to stay. The apartments are spotless, spacious and have 180 sea views and sunsets from private balconies. There are only 3 (or 4) apartments with smaller ones for couples to large ones for families. The lovely family who run this also own the small organic olive grove around the building plus a good restaurant upstairs. The restaurant also has incredible views plus good, local food, wine, beer. It's the perfect place to enjoy a meal or drink and watch the sun sink.

We've just got back from our second break there. It's so relaxing. We'll definitely be back many times.

“Breathtaking sunset views, good food and fabulous hosts”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2011

My wife and daughter stayed at Arillas, 2miles from Afionas and we walked up the hill to the village on the advice of our tour rep, who said the views were fantastic. She wasn't wrong! In the small village we found the Panorama Restaurant, so named as it overlooks the sea from the top of steep cliffs.

We had coffee as we rested and chatted to the owner, Spiros, and his daughter. Lovely people and as we left, Spiros daughter said "if you have time to eat a meal here before you go home, my father will be happy to pick you up from your apartment and bring you here in his car.."

We were so impressed by this and we booked there and then for dinner the next evening (Friday). True to his word, Spiros collected us and had prepared for us his best table overlooking the bay, with superb views. The food was very good, steak, lamb and special pizza, and we watched a breathtaking sunset as we ate.

All in all a memorable evening with a lovely family. We wish them all well!
