“good room for low price!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2012

Nothing too fancy, but clean and comfy for a very low price. (around $50) The owner was super nice and suggested a couple things to do in the area. A 2 block walk from Wall Drug. Would stay here again!

Thanks for the nice note. True, we don't do "fancy," but "clean, comfy" and very affordable are what the Sunshine Inn does very well. Thanks for calling attention to our high-value rooms, as well as making a nice comment about how you were treated here. Glad you mentioned our proximity to Wall Drug Store, which is just the next block over from us on Wall's famous Main Street. It's always a pleasure giving our guests some ideas and tips on what to see and do while in this magnificent section of the great American prairie. Thanks again for staying and taking the time to mention your experience here. Hope to see you again! Best wishes, John (owner, Sunshine Inn)

Thanks for the nice review, which is gratifying to all of us here at the Sunshine Inn, where we work hard to make sure that all of our customers have experiences like yours. A "great clean place" is what we strive for each and every day, and a "great night's sleep" is a goal that we try to achieve for every guest. I'm personally grateful for the nice comments about me, as I try to make every customer a friend by helping out with individual requests and requirements--virtually all of which we can accommodate. Thanks again for the kind words. We'd surely love to have you stay with us again. Best wishes, John (owner, Sunshine Inn)

My wife and I stayed at the Sunshine Inn this past May. It's a modest place with a friendly owner, a world class Wi Fi signal and a convenient breakfast. The rate was under $70...great for a tourist area.

Wall is a perfect place to explore Badlands National Park and is not far from the Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park and the Black Hills.

We highly recommend the Sunshine Inn!

Thank you for sharing your good experience at the Sunshine Inn with TripAdvisor readers. We certainly couldn't ask for a more flattering and descriptive headline. We are indeed a "bargain priced gem" and take great pride in your kind remarks, along with those of hundreds of other guests. We also appreciate you noting that our Wi-Fi signal is "world class," as I take great pains to make sure every one of our customers has quick and easy access to the internet. Our equipment, which includes a high-speed modem, two routers and a repeater, ensures strong and fast signals in every room. As to location, we are indeed a handy "headquartering" spot for the great attractions in our area, some of which are just minutes away. Throw in the short walk to Wall's world famous Main Street--including the renowned Wall Drug Store--and you've got a convenient spot from which to do a lot of vacationing at the Sunshine Inn. Thanks again for the nice comments and for sharing them here. Certainly hope we see you again. Best wishes, John (owner, Sunshine Inn)

This was an excellent value; clean hotel, comfortable beds, very friendly and accommodating host, walking distance to Wall Drug and area restaurants. If you are spending a few days in the Badlands, it is a very short drive from this hotel to the Park. Some of the rooms are pet-friendly with plenty of space nearby to walk your pet.

Thanks for the kind remarks that stress our value and quality rooms. We also appreciate that you mention one of our principal attributes: location. We do have many guests who stay for multiple nights as they explore nearby Badlands National Park, just 7 miles--only 10 minutes--from our front door. Then, when they get back into town they're just a block away from Wall's attractions, including the world famous Wall Drug Store, restaurants and shops, comprising one of the West's most interesting and authentic old style Main Streets. We believe that travelers can't find a better combination of great value, comfortably clean rooms, and handy location than right here at the Sunshine Inn. Thanks for making note of your satisfying stay here--we certainly hope you'll come back for a repeat visit. Best wishes, John (owner, Sunshine Inn)

We stayed two nights in August in the Sunshine Inn in Wall, home of the legendary Wall Drug... Our choice for this motel was based on the many good reviews found on the web and indeed, nothing but good critiques for the Inn.

Granted, the rooms are a bit old fashioned but kept in great condition by friendly owner John and his team. We found the motel to be very tidy and ideally located just a single block from the Wall Drug. With reasonable rates even in the summer season, it should be your choice over the brand hotels in town.

On a next visit to the Badlands, we'll definitely stay here again!

Many thanks for the kind remarks about your stay at the Sunshine Inn, especially where you stress that the facility is kept in "great condition" by "John and his team." We are most definitely a team here, and though I'm the only point of real contact between the Sunshine Inn and our guests, we couldn't get so many great responses here without this being a team effort. I'm grateful for a fantastic staff. Yes, we're a bit "old-fashioned," but that applies to more than just our facility, which as you note is very well-maintained. We're also old-fashioned about giving great customer service with a super-friendly and welcoming attitude. You can add our stress on value as another one of our "old-fashioned" qualities. Throw in our strict standards for cleanliness and sanitation, and you can see why we're proud to call ourselves "old-fashioned." I'm most appreciative that a visitor from a foreign shore like yourself--who no doubt has traveled through numerous countries and stayed in many lodging facilities--took the time and effort to profess your satisfaction with the Sunshine Inn here. Thanks again for the nice comments. We certainly do hope you'll stop by and see us again the next time you're in the area. Best wishes, John (owner, Sunshine Inn)

The Inn is rated highly and deservedly so. John, the owner, is so helpful and pleasant. We felt like we were with an old friend. The rooms were clean, comfortable and complete. We had good recommendations for dinner. Also, John will help with any needs. John is a great host. We are so glad we stayed with him.

First off, thank you for the kind remarks about me. As satisfied as I am with the excellent performance of our business, I'm most appreciative of my chances to develop so many warm and lasting friendships with great customers like you. Of course, the basis for a good relationship is the great value, clean and functional accommodations, and handy location that are the hallmark of the Sunshine Inn's offerings to travelers looking for rooms that are "clean, comfortable and complete." We're so glad that you found your stay here to fit those requirements--and we hope that another trip to this part of the country will bring you back to the Sunshine Inn for a great night's sleep and a pleasant visit with me right here in the office. Best wishes, John (owner, Sunshine Inn)

This was the least expensive of all the motels on our 12-day vacation. After paying inflated prices at the hot spot tourist places from S. Dakota to Montana, we found this gem in Wall, SD on our way home. It is just a block from the famous Wall Drug and a short drive to the scenic Badlands NP Scenic Highway. The room was clean and was quiet for a good night's sleep. Beds were comfortable. Although the room was not loaded with amenities, you could ask for anything that you needed. The TV was fine with numerous channels and we were able to watch the Packers play on one of the sports channels. We appreciated the friendliness of the hotel's owner. After a quick breakfast of donuts and juice, provided by the owner, we were on our way. Would stay here again if in this area.

That you appreciate the value of your night's stay at the Sunshine Inn is most gratifying to us. We consider ourselves a value-based lodging option and couldn't stress more that what you get here for what you pay here is likely to be one of the best (the "best" in yours and no doubt many other travelers' cases) deals on a road trip. As virtually every poster on this site notes, our rooms are immaculate and function, our array of available amenities satisfies the needs of most travelers, and our "quick start" breakfast nook of coffee, orange juice and variety sweet rolls gets travelers off to a good day for their continuing journeys. All of this comes at prices that are ultra-competitive and fit even the tightest of budgets. Thank you so much for your kind words about the Sunshine Inn. We certainly hope you'll come and stay with us again! Best wishes, John (owner, Sunshine Inn)
