The DC Booth Fish Hachery offers a beautiful area in the heart of Spearfish City Park. Enjoy feeding the fish and ducks with your family and walking through the beautiful scenic area. A little hidden gem.

“Great family outing..”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2012

There is no cost involved to walk through and view the fish hatchery. However, if you have a coin in your pocket purchase some fish food and watch the trout go crazy for it. The kids will enjoy this adventure.

“Fun for kids to feed the fish”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2012

Pretty neat place to go to. Though the hatchery is no longer used for raising fish for food, they have large numbers of fish that you can feed with food from the gift shop. There are some interesting museums, too.

“A treasure”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2012

The DC Booth Historic National Fish Hatchery is located adjacent to the Spearfish City park, in the mouth of pleasant little canyon in the Black Hills. The underwater fish viewing is interesting and fun for kids as is feeding the fish and the resident fowl. THere is a great little museum explaining the the workings of the hatchery along with a number of races full of fish during the summer. Outdoor exhibits include a 'fish' car used to move fish and a boat. Several sculptures add to the well kept grounds. The Booth House is an early 20th century home that can be toured. The garden behind the house can be rented for various events, including weddings. As my husband and I were married there, it has a special place in our hearts! Special events are held several times a year including holiday decorations and tours in December and a Father's Day Brunch. It's well worth spending a couple of hours wondering around any time of the year.

“Our kids love this”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2012

Every time we have family to visit the kids pick the Fish Hatchery to go to. We have been several times and it is still fun to feed the fish. Small kids LOVE it!
