“Consistent excellence”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2013

Staybridge Suites Sioux Falls, South Dakota

Interior Decor: Lush contemporary Staybridge Suites standard - very good - easy on eyes
Exterior Appearance: Standard Staybridge Suites building
Outside view from the room: Carolyn Avenue, hotel front parking, Holiday Inn Express building across the street, commercialized area - average
Room size: Approximately 60 square meters. Generously big.
Price value: Quite a bargain considering the growth of the city and fairly convenient location, plus all the good amenities that came with the stay such as complementary hot breakfast served on real ceramic plates.
Service: Commedable, very good. Friendly staffs.
Bed: Firm - King. 8 hours of good sleep.

We stayed here one night on November 10th, 2012. We had a room with one single queen and stayed in it with our two kids, ages 2 1/2 and 1. The 2 1/2 year old slept on the couch and the 1 year old slept in a pack and play that we had brought ourselves. I did not check to see if the hotel had one prior to staying there. The room had a fridge, not quite full size, but double that of a 'dorm' fridge. It also had a sink, stove top, dishwasher, along with detergent, paper towels, some linens and a select amount of dishes. We didn't use any of this, but anything longer then a one night stay, it would have been nice to store some snacks and such for the kids. Very nice room and hotel. They have a nice selection and seating area for breakfast. They also have a nice business area.

We used the pool the evening we were there and the morning before checking out. The pool seemed a little chilly, but the 2 1/2 year old loved it. She lasted about 45 minutes before her lips were turning purple. I would definitely stay here again.

We did have a slight glitch with checking in. My father in law had booked us this room with his points, put my husband and I's name on it, and told management I would checking in prior to him as he and my husband were coming much later in the evening (9pm). I got there and the gentleman who started helping seemed to know what was going on, but he got interrupted and a different gal tried to take over checking me in. She was not going to allow me to check in without my father in law there. It took a few calls and about 10 minutes of my time (with two kids under 3, you know how long 10 minutes can last!) but I feel that it shouldn't have been an issue since he made it fully known and the room was put into my name.

Other then that, we did not have any problems and I could recommend this hotel to others.

Room Tip: We had a room away from the pool wing ont he 3rd floor and did not have any issue with noise what so...

Our family was in Sioux Falls for the weekend and we were able to get suites across from each other that worked out real well. The rooms are small, but for a couple or small family, they are just fine. Breakfast was very nice with a lot of variety.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms facing the street and not the interstate.

Was not sure if I would make Sioux Falls, checked Hampton Inn and they had rooms, arrived 9.00pm and they had no rooms. Spotted Staybridge Inn and called in, the had a double room. I'm sitting here now and can't believe the quality for the price. Will be using them in future

This is a nice, quiet, clean place to stay. Breakfasts are the typical waffles, cereal and muffins. The front desk staff was friendly. I would stay here again. A five in my book is the best hotel there is and only the best deserve to be scored a five. This hotel is probably the best it can be -- it doesn't have the ability to be rated a five -- and the Staybridge room rates are a third of the fives. Like I said, I would stay here again.

Though we only stayed one night, we were very pleasantly surprised. We expected the basic mid-grade hotel, but Staybridge seems to have gone a notch above the standard fare. Staff was the friendliest we encountered on our trip, the room was the nicest (cleanest) and we were particularly impressed with the breakfast (real plates, silver, etc.) and the spacious, almost elegant area provided - so many of the $100/night hotels miss the mark on the breakfast area with areas more reminiscent of a free-for-all high-school cafeteria.
Luckily for us, we were upgraded to a 2-bedroom, 2 bathroom suite (which was another very pleasant surprise) so I can't comment on the room we had originally booked, but I anticipate our brief stay still would have been a very pleasant experience. We'd stay again!
