“Very Rare Find - 4 Star quality for Motel Price!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 days ago NEW via mobile

Unbelievably impressed by this place! The S Dakota lodge is such an extremely rare find! It had very elevated customer service and a swath of hidden extras. From its locally sourced natural soaps, to complimentary breakfast complete with Belgian waffles, to its calm, wine country-like outdoor brick patio w/fireplace courtyard, extra large 10-person Jacuzzi, incredibly fine, soft bed sheets, and free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel including your room, I was tempted to change my flight plans and stay longer! You simply don't find quality like this for $69/night!! Also, if you were without rental car and needed to be downtown, it would be worth it to pay for the small 2.5 mile taxi ride to stay here! LOVED IT!

When I walk in the door at the lodge, the kindest man checked us in. The place is clean, the room spotless, and very comfortable. My daughter regrets she didn't have her bathing suit after seeing the pool and slide!! Will definitely stay here again when passing through!

Let me start by saying that the staff was friendly and helpful when we checked in and checked out. We stayed there on a Monday night, on our way from Rapid City to Minneapolis. The room was decent and clean. Those were the pros. Now for the cons: there was no counter space in the bathroom. The small sink had no hot water and not much pressure. The internet didn't work, nor did the extension plug which was next to the bed. There were at least 50 teenagers in the breakfast area, taking up all of the seats and tables, so we grabbed some coffee to go. Granted, that wasn't the hotels fault, but we could hear them through our walls. Overall, it was an okay place for a sleep spot, but we won't be back.

Dear Amy,
Thank you for staying with us, we do so appreciate it. I am glad to hear our staff was friendly and helpful. Unhappy to hear of the problems you encountered. We will follow up with the sink, I am thinking it is a faucet problem. Unfortunately the rest was a result of a youth convention next door, good kids but kids none the less. Please don't give up on us, we would love to have another chance.
Thank You again!
Randy

Visited the hotel on a Sunday slow day cold outside but Rusty welcomed us very warmly and really made us feel very satisfied with our choice of hotels. The hotel itself feels brand new and the pool area is very cool (nice sized hot tub, slide, kids play area, etc) and the best thing of all was the PRICE lowest price in SUFA and still had a breakfast and pool. Check them out its worth it.

We had an excellent stay that was so affordable. The hotel was very clean and well-kept. It seemed like much of the furniture was new. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Great breakfast. Would highly recommend.

Booked online after reading reviews on Tripadvisor. Our family was disappointed with room and breakfast.Staff were friendly. Hotel is old but has been remodeled but still feels old. Price was okay reviews have a lot of 4 and 5 not sure why . I would have given a 3 but read too many high reviews so we were disappointed.

Dear Expected
Expectations are a funny thing and I do try not to over sell. We are an older building but we have replaced all beds, tvs, carpet, draperies, furniture, lamps and on, down to the sinks. We just opened new elevator, indoor pool with 167 ft water slide and guest laundry room last fall and new breakfast room, lobby, exercise room a year ago. We don't charge what the others do and try to make Dakota Lodge a great value, with clean room and friendly staff. Thank you for staying with us, I am sad we missed our chance to meet your expectations.

We checked in tired after a long day on the road dealing with fog & rain. Staff were very welcoming & when asked recommended a restaurant that would deliver dinner to our room (Steakhouse - grilled shrimp & ribs were very good). The room was comfortable, clean, quiet with a good tv. On our road trip we stayed at Super 8's & Days Inns & this was the best for the same cost. Good free breakfast too.
