We had been warned that the IHOPs in Sioux Falls weren't very good, but after hearing about the new ownership, we decided to give the IHOP on West 41st St. a try. We decided that we would take advantage of the "all you can eat" pancakes. After all, a restaurant with the word "pancakes" in it's name had to have good pancakes. Besides the IHOP we had eaten at in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota had always had great pancakes. The first thing that we noticed was that the plates were only slightly larger than the pancakes. I distinctly remember seeing large plates in the commercials that were on TV. If you put too much syrup on your pancakes it would have gone over the plate and onto the table, and eating on those small plates was a bit if a challenge. The next thing we noticed was that the pancakes seemed almost raw in the middle. It was like they could have brought us each a glass of batter and it wouldn't have tasted a whole lot different than the texture of the pancakes. We can't tell you anything about the other food that they serve, but please stay away from the "all you can eat" pancakes.
