“Great Family Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2013

I love to take the family to the zoo for a few hours at least a few times throughout the year. Not only is it great in the midst of summer, but there are less people and lots of animals to still see even during the winter. It is a great value and kids will definitely love the petting zoo!

“Great Improvements!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 25, 2013

This was our second visit to the Great Plains Zoo and Museum. The entrance has been transformed, making it more astatically pleasing and adding to the overall first impression of the zoo. The new snow monkey exhibit is great and designed very well for both the living collection and the visiting guests. The rest of the zoo was filled with exciting species like guanacos, tigers, giraffes, and flamingos. The contact area is great for kids and animal enthusiast adults like ourselves. the zoo is spread out, making it a great active day for anyone who decides to see the entire zoo. the attached museum is a bit dated, but the collection is amazing. Great value can be had by the guests by having the museum and zoo all in one- at one low price. We are zoo members at the Red River Zoo in Fargo, ND so our admission was free. Wonderful afternoons and memories can be made at the Great Plains Zoo.

“Great fun for kids”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2013 credit card Amex Card Member Review

We were there this summer with our one year old. This is an excellent weekend getaway for kids. It is not too huge but has all the animals that your kids are going to want to see. The train ride is fun but we couldn't get to see many of the animals during the ride. Overall, it's a great fun place to be for kids.

“Great Zoo!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2013

It's not a large zoo, but it is quite nice. Laid out very well, has a wide variety of animals and exhibits and is a good place to spend 2-3 hours.

It's really only lacking a good bug/snake exhibit. The existing one is very tiny and not a good variety.

“Great little Zoo”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2013

Our family of five really enjoyed the zoo. It was just the right size to be able to take in all of the exhibits. Most of the exhibits had been renovated recently and well kept. The number and variety of animals was impressive for a smaller zoo. You could even feed the animals if you wanted to pay $5 to do so during set times. We passed on feeding the giraffes, but it was still fun watching others feed them and only being a few feet away.
