“There were problems, but they made it right”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago

Another review mentioned their reservation being messed up, and so was ours. We booked a room that was supposed to have capacity for 3 adults and 3 children, but the room we got only had 2 beds. Apparently they were having trouble with their reservation system. The last roll-away had been taken. Fortunately we brought air mattresses ("be prepared"), which 2 of the kids used that night. (The room was plenty big enough to do this.) They gave money off our bill for the inconvenience. :)

The room was nice, but getting ready to turn in one of our daughters noticed the bed had crumbs, hair, and even a small amount of blood on the fitted sheet. Desk clerk offered to move us to another room, but since they had trouble finding us this room I said we would be OK with clean sheets and we would re-make the bed ourselves. They provided a full set of sheets and pillow cases and the clerk said she would leave a note for the manager to give us another credit.

Otherwise, it was a good stay. Parking lot was full due to concrete work on the lot on the back side, so we decided to walk to a restaurant rather than give up a reasonably good spot. Fryin' Pan restaurant was very close by and was just what we needed.

Even though we were well fed from the night before, the breakfast was enjoyable with protein items in addition to the breads most places have.

There is no pool here, but we got in late and left early so even the kids didn't miss it.

Hotels do make mistakes, but this one expressed their apologies in dollars not just "gee, sorry". With a senior discount and (2) credits we got the room for about half price. So they accommodated all of our family without our having to get 2 rooms, we experienced minor inconveniences, and paid a price so low we might have spent it for breakfast alone. I'm good with that!

If only the next hotel we stayed at credited for their errors!

First of all, the room was nice and clean, and kept up. The girl at the desk was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was OK, but more variety would have been nice - eggs/meat in addition to the biscuits & gravy. The room was clean and the bedding was fine. The hotel's location is very close and convenient to I-29, but it is in a very busy, high-traffic area near a mall. There are many fast-food restaurants within walking distance, and a family restaurant (Fryin' Pan). The downside of the hotel was really with other guests. The hotel seems to host teenage sports teams who are unacquainted with common hotel courtesy. The hotel should post signage that quiet is expected in the halls between 10:00PM and 7:00AM. Coaches/Chaperones should be asked to enforce this expectation.

Would have probably given this an excellent rating had the breakfast selection been a bit wider, but hey, it is complimentary so I won't complain.

The hotel is well located (10 minutes from the zoo and the falls) and close to a number of restaurants.

The staff was very friendly and responsive to our needs. The rooms were clean and the AC worked very well.

Very good overall experience. Would stay here again if we pass through again.

This was the first time we'd stayed in a Super 8 and found it very average
We had two rooms and both smelt like cigarettes. Despite this, the room was spacious, quiet and clean. It could do with a renovation though.
The breakfast was basic.
The staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel is in a handy location on a main street.

We drove 13 hours to get to this hotel to discover that the computer had lost our reservation. The desk person was very helpful, which was important because it was 10:00 at night and we were dead tired.

There were no rooms left in our preferred layout so they upgraded us at no extra cost. There weren't any rooms left in that size either so they had to put us in a Jacuzzi suite for less than $70.

The Jacuzzi felt SO GOOD!!! The bed was awesome and the breakfast was a cut above the usual for Super 8's.

Altogether highly recommended even without the pool.

This is the best Super 8 I've ever stayed in and will be much more likely to consider staying at another Super 8 in the future. The room decor was updated and the queen mattresses reminded me of a nice "3 Star" hotel that cost $120+ a night. Breakfast was also fairly impressive: waffles, sausage gravy and biscuits, cold and hot cereal, cinnamon rolls, yogurt, toast, etc. We were pleased with this hotel that we stayed here again 10 nights later. My only complaint is that the room air conditioner is too loud.

Room Tip: Two queen bed rooms are comfortable, with mini-fridge, microwave.
