“So nice we went twice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2013

This restaurant was right across the parking lot from our hotel and we were all tired so we walked over. Inside decor was nothing special but we were greeted and seated quickly. Our drinks and orders were handled very fast and when our food arrived we were all quite pleased. The food was attractively presented and quite fresh and we all shared bites so we could see how good each others dishes were. I actually saved room for desert since they also have a bakery and the large slice of pecan pie and ice cream was very good. Large portions and friendly staff made it a no-brainer the next morning when it came time for breakfast. We had another good meal and friendly prompt service even in spite of a very large party of nurses that had all apparently just gotten off night shift and met for breakfast. We even indulged in some pastries for the road and left full and happy.

“Misinformed”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2013

After reading the reviews on tripadvisor we decided to try out this establishment for Sunday breakfast. Since we have never been here before I decided to try their specialties. I ate the eggs benedict. The benedict came out promptly and looked good. I put for first bite into my mouth and was immediately confused. The hollandaise tasted like a thickened chicken stock using egg yolks and butter, it tastes nothing like a hollandaise in the sense if you think of a hollandaise being a buttery, lemony thick sauce. The muffin was soft and had good flavor but wasn't toasted. The ham they put on it was very good, it tasted fresh. The side of hash browns were your typical frozen hash browns but had a good crisp on them.

The other person in my party ordered something very simple. Simply, eggs, bacon and patty sausage. The bacon tasted tangy like it was smoked with old wood, a metallic taste. The sausage was ok but nothing special. Eggs were cooked well.

The restaurant needs to be updated and there was a buffet. However, the buffet was $9.99 and looked like most of the items had been sitting there most of the morning. Old dirty carpets and the waitresses and waiters weren't presented very well. On this particular morning there were very young kids helping in the restaurant bussing tables and one brought us our drinks... They weren't in any uniform and didn't say anything to us. No idea if they were or weren't washing their hands or anything.

Overall this place shouldn't be ranked 4 stars to be honest I don't think the place should even be open. I walked to the restroom and glanced in the kitchen and there were buckets on serving stations of who knows what and people out of uniform and eating in the back... Overall you might as well spend the extra 3 minutes and go to Denny's two exits north. At least there you know what you are getting.

Infantry26, thank you for your review please accept our apologies for your experience. As you saw on Trip Advisor, your experience is not typical. Although there are a bunch of explanations for what happened, I don't want to make excuses; you caught us on an unusually "bad day."

I'd like to try and make this up to you; would you mind contacting me at mike@rollnpin.com -- I'm glad that you saw that we typically have excellent food and service, which is what I'd like you to experience. Thanks again for your review and please, do contact me.

Homestyle food which was very tasty. Friendly and efficient service. Would definitely recommend if you stay in one of the hotels in the area.

“Homey but great food, good TV to watch the football game and excellent meatloaf”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2013

They even have wine and beer and it is really unusally clean and pleasant for this type of independent restaurant.
