The hotel rooms are fantastic - refrigerator, microwave, flat screen tv's, ergonomic work chair/desk and the decor is classy. The staff is very friendly and the hotel is near to lots of restaurants. I really enjoy staying here for work and I'd book it for vacation travel as well.

I didn't expect much from the Sioux Falls Hampton Inn, but I was pleasantly surprised!

The room was updated and nicely decorated and included a flat-screen TV, mini refrigerator and platter of goodies to welcome us. The bed was comfortable; the room quiet. My only complaint would be breakfast, which is served gratis each morning near the lobby. The eggs were horrible and the juice watered down and tasteless, but what was most bothersome was the hotel worker standing guard waiting to urgently close the buffet down.

We named her the Breakfast Nazi.

As the last few stragglers filled their plates, she would take the remaining food away, even though it was before the cut-off time. She stood watch as everyone ate and before they even finished their meal, she was there clearing plates. By 10:01 the whole buffet was scrubbed clean and put away. Not a very welcoming scene but other than that the hotel was wonderful.

When I reserved a room at the hotel a month before my trip, I asked for a room on the highest possible floor in a quiet area, because I had a 6 a.m. flight the next day. I arrived at the hotel early in the afternoon and was told that the hotel was full and the room they had for me was on the first floor, facing the parking lot with an outside door right next to my room. It was loud all night long. The hotel is older and the room was very dark. It wasn't a particularly nice experience.

The rooms were beautifully designed. Location was close enough to major shops and restaurants, but it was at least a 15 minute drive to a grocery store (at least the route we took). The staff's friendliness was satisfactory. Continental breakfast was average, nothing to brag about. Hotel was very clean. Pool size was pretty small, gym was typical to what you'd find anywhere else, (cardio machines plus an all-in-one centre).

...but I'm doing this of my own free will. I've stayed here before and have been pleased, but they've stepped it up a notch. The good vibes started when we walked into our room. They have updated furnishings and decor with cherry wood desks and armoires, fancy desk chairs, beds that are cushy but not overly soft, pleasing art work, flat screen tvs, nice looking roman shades on the windows.

Breakfast time is where they wow'd us...the included breakfast now has a couple of hot choices along with wide array of breads, fruit, cereal, juice, tea & coffee. On this busy Saturday they had 2 employees monitoring the spread and refilling as needed. As it got close to time for closing down the meal, a breakfast hostess went to each table to give a 'last call'. She was really friendly and patient too as the teenage baseball players went back for 3rds :-)

I also caught them taking extreme care in cleaning after breakfast and cleaning in general. One employeed was vacuuming the carpet on the rolling luggage cart, and wiping down all its surfaces. To me that shows they care.

I was impressed at every turn here and I highly recommend it.

Hotel rooms are good and spacious, clean and the staff is friendly. Free wifi is a good plus, as well as proper parking at the hotel.

Breakfast was probably standard American, but the average european will not be impressed with the donuts, muffins and microwaved, factory prepared eggs they surve. For sleeping and staying here it's a good hotel, but if you expect proper meals and allot of entertainement in and around the hotel, this might not be the place for you.
