Unknown to us we had planned our trip to stay in Rapid City at the same time as the Sturgis rally so rates were up. Hotel staff were friendly and most were helpful

Breakfast are got crowded on 1 morning but that was probably because they were full next morning not too bad

Value for money was fine and was slightly above its star rating

If we had been staying on other dates there would have been more choice

We wre on a raod trip to WY and pulled into Rapid City and thought the Econo Lodge would be a good value---Boy were we wrong!!!!!! Our first hotel room smelled so bad and had so much mold and mildew in it that we couldn't even breath. The next room wasn't much better as far as cleanliness went, but had no mold.....however the toilet didn't flush and the sinks were a mere dribble. When we checked out we were told that the front desk wasn't authorized to "do" anything for us. But, the worst thing was the maintance man inferring that we did somthing wrong or we were making it up. No, you are wrong to treat a guest this way. We got the heck out of there as soon as we could. WE WILL NEVER STAY AT AN ECONO LODGE AGAIN!!!!!!
p.s. the "continetal breakfast consisted of 3 day old muffins and warm juice...yuck!!!!!

The hotel could use some more work in the Housekeeping area. There was stuff on our walls that looked like Pizza Sauce and the washrooms are showing some wear. When I booked I was told we could have a Mini-Fridge put in our room but we did not get one after numerous requests. I would still go here again due to the price being reasonable.

This is a budget hotel and as such, there are no frills or bells. This is not a bad thing at all! I really really enjoyed my stay here at the Econo Lodge. My boyfriend and I rented a jacuzzi suite, and were rather surprised that the jacuzzi was in a little room off by itself. That made it nice and feel private! We went during the 4th of July week, so it was pretty crowded. However, there were no disturbances when we got to our room. There was shampoo, soap, and lotion. The jacuzzi was nice because you could set your own temperature. The breakfast was much better than previously reviewed. There were many options and I felt like a kid in a candy store! The only problem with the continental breakfast is that they have the tables laid out in such a way that you have to go back into the middle of the line or "butt in" in front of someone in order to use the toaster. The pool was great, the water slide was so much fun! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is traveling on a budget because I thought the staff and the hotel went above and beyond the expectations for a budget hotel!
