This is a budget hotel and as such, there are no frills or bells. This is not a bad thing at all! I really really enjoyed my stay here at the Econo Lodge. My boyfriend and I rented a jacuzzi suite, and were rather surprised that the jacuzzi was in a little room off by itself. That made it nice and feel private! We went during the 4th of July week, so it was pretty crowded. However, there were no disturbances when we got to our room. There was shampoo, soap, and lotion. The jacuzzi was nice because you could set your own temperature. The breakfast was much better than previously reviewed. There were many options and I felt like a kid in a candy store! The only problem with the continental breakfast is that they have the tables laid out in such a way that you have to go back into the middle of the line or "butt in" in front of someone in order to use the toaster. The pool was great, the water slide was so much fun! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is traveling on a budget because I thought the staff and the hotel went above and beyond the expectations for a budget hotel!

We stayed here twice during a recent trip, and there is no better value in town. The first time we booked ahead via their Web site. The motel was easy to find from the airport. Rooms were clean, not stylish, but who expects style at an Econolodge? As noted by a previous reviewer, breakfasts could barely be called that. A few donuts, toaster waffles, cereal, but the layout of the food caused slow lines, and they didn't have staff dedicated to replenishing the food in a timely manner. We ended up sitting in the adjacent swimming pool area due to lack of tables and chairs. Management told us that they were about to remodel the breakfast area, so that may no longer apply.

On the tail end of the trip, we pulled into Rapid City for the night, and checked a few hotels. Everyone was quoting $30-$40 more than Econolodge. So as long as you don't expect a gourmet breakfast, it's a terrific value!

Just returned from our trip to Rapid City. With a limited budget and few hotel rooms available last minute, we chose the Econolodge. Although I am not usually a fan of econos, this hotel was really nice for the price. The rooms and bathrooms were spacious and very clean. Even though the hotel was completely booked, it was quiet. The pool area is well-maintained. Both my boyfriend and I enjoyed the waterslide. The hotel is located near several restaurants and within about a half mile of Rushmore Mall. The cleaning staff was extremely friendly, often asking us how we were doing or commenting on our pet (which only costs $10 for the entire stay).

The only downsides were that the rooms did have signs of wear and tear....nothing too horrible, but is starting to show its age. Additionally, the breakfast was quite sparce. We may have caught it at a poor time, but there were really limited choices and way too many people, so we just went to Denny's next door.

If you choose the Econolodge, I recommend booking via their website. I found this price to be $10 cheaper than any other site.

Overall, great value and stay.

This is an older motel, but it is well maintained and clean. The best part is the huge waterslide at the indoor pool, it is lots of fun! Great location, right off I-90, across the street from the mall and several restaurants. The front desk staff was extremely helpful and definitely made us feel welcome. Bring your pets for only $10 more for the entire stay. The only downsides were no shampoo in the room, dial up internet and the continental breakfast was not the best we've had, but it was ok for the price.
