“Perfectly Located”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2012

My husband and I spent 3 nights over Labor Day weekend at this wonderful b&b. After a long drive from Chicago, we needed a place where we could relax and that would be a jumping off point for our visits to Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer National Park and Devil's Tower. Sweetgrass' location on the south side of Rapid City was perfect; and it was still a 5 minute drive to downtown restaurants and shops. At first I was a little concerned that the b&b was too close to a busy street and the noise would be a problem, but it was wonderfully quiet especially in the morning. Shari was a lovely host, gave us great tips, and prepared a wonderful, hearty breakfast every morning in company with Lee and Benny, the dog and Shadow, the cat. We where in the Meadowsage Room which had a roomy bathroom including a jacuzzi tub which we sadly did not use. There is no cable but you can rent movies at the nearby Walgreens or bring your own DVD. Be aware that cell phone access can be iffy in the Black Hills. Overall, it was a lovely experience for a reasonable price.

“So lucky to have found the Sweetgrass Inn!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2012

A friend and I were spending a week in and around Rapid City and looked for a Bed and Breakfast in a great location. We found it in the Sweetgrass Inn. We stayed in the Prairie Room which has two double beds and is very roomy, including the bathroom. Everything was clean. There was a great view from our window. Shari was a great hostess and breakfast was never the same but always very good! She enjoys spending time with her guests and we enjoyed talking with her over coffee each morning. Her husband Lee was also very friendly and we enjoyed talking with him as well. As I said, the Sweetgrass Inn is in a wonderful location. I would definitely stay here again if I come back to this area.

“Perfect combination of value, comfort & convenience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2012 via mobile

We just hoped to find something affordable during the bike rally, I couldn't believe we found an actual B&B with the most competitive prices in the area!

Sheri & Lee were kind & helpful with everything from suggestions & directions to printing our boarding passes, the room was quiet & cozy, the breakfasts were made-to-order every morning, & the location was perfect--in the middle of all the action, North to Deadwood & Sturgis, South to Mt. Rushmore & Custer State Park. I especially liked the easy access to the airport for our 6AM flight home!

This place felt like home on the first night, we really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, & we are already planning another stay!

“Sweetgrass most welcoming and centrally located to major monuments and sites”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2012

Our stay was most pleasant; firm beds and hot showers felt great after touring Mt. Rushmore, Custer, National Badlands, Mammoth Site, Devils Tower, Jewel Cave, Deadwood, Lead, Crazy Horse Monument and more! A hearty breakfast each morning served us well into lunchtime. B&B hosts, Shari and Lee, gave us helpful tips on best ways to tour based on our agenda - it would have been a disaster without their guidance.

“Fantastic stay at Sweetgrass B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2012

We went to see Mount Rushmore and experienced so much more. Sweetgrass was the perfect place to stay. The breakfast was delicious and a great way to start a busy day of exploring. Shari takes care of breakfast and Lee handles dinner at Shipwreck Lee's next door. Every morning both were at breakfast to chat and offer travel advice. They won't steer you wrong. Our room was very spacious and clean. It had everything we needed and more. Location is very close to all the great sites (and yes, there is much more than just Rushmore!). It is out in the country so every morning you wake up to a beautiful view. Highley recommend it!
