Stayed for 4 nights while touring the area. Paid $ 75 per night.
Check in and check out was fast and easy. The room was clean and the bed and sheets were comfortable. The bathroom was clean.
Like most hotels these days with strong door closers, if the room door is left to close on its own, it makes a loud slamming sound which, when someone arrives at their room at a late hour, can be most annoying when trying to sleep. There must be a way to change this but it seems to be a problem at most hotels these days.
This hotel had a shuttle service that not only picked you up from, and dropped you off at, the airport, they would pick you up and drop you off anywhere in Rapid City for free (tip the driver). Not even expensive hotels in big cities do this. What a great service.
There is no free breakfast (the only negative) but there is a restaurant attached to the hotel with lobby access.
A great place to stay when in Rapid City.

We arrived in Rapid City rather late at night and just wanted a hotel for the night. Having had good experiences with Best Westerns in the past, we thought it would be OK. I must say, we were quite disappointed during the entire 20 minutes we spent there. Our first problem was the shock we felt when we learned there was no continental breakfast; not a huge deal I guess, but the girl behind the desk was so rude when she explained that their restaurant opens at 6am, kind of as if we were out of line for expecting an included breakfast with the $120 we were about to spend for the night. We got into our room, which I will admit did look quite comfortable. Upon trying to get onto their complimentary hi-speed internet, we found we were unable to get online. Thinking maybe there was some secret they had forgot to tell us when we checked in, I called the desk to inquire and the man on the phone told me that their internet was down, justifying it by saying he had just found out that evening...which doesn't explain why he didn't mention it when we checked in 20 minutes prior to that. The whole situation was just too much, especially given the cost of the room, so we decided to go elsewhere. The Comfort Inn down the street was much better and much cheaper=)

Very large hotel with a very good restaurant. They have an indoor waterpark, which is separate from an additional indoor pool. The only negative thing I can say is that they didn't have continental breakfast!?!?!? I thought all Best Westerns supposedly had that, but not this one.

These people define hospitality. We arrived a day early and with nothing but smiles, they accomodated our needs within a minute. They made us sign a water park waiver form that caught me off guard. I had no idea they had a "water park" on site and figured they were describing a glorified kiddies pool. What awaited the kids and I was a honest-to-goodness fast and heart-pounding water slide.

The room was nice for the rpice and everything was centered around families with kids. The on-site restaurant may be the best place to eat in town. If you are going to Mount Rushmore and coming in from Wyoming, it's worth the extra twenty miles to stay at a place where your kids will forget the extra long haul in the car.
