“Good Time for kids”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2013

We stopped here on our way through Rapid City. Our 3 kids had a great time. They were tired of traveling in the car and had a great time running around checking everything out. They also had a fun time on the train ride. Very fun and affordable place to stop on your vacation.

“Don't pass this up if you have young children!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2013

What a great place to take children too! Storybook Island brings out the best of one's imagination, and leaves behind all of the technology of today. What a lovely experience it is for young kids and all children and even adults to take a step back in time and use our imagination to play out our own stories as the kids run from one story book area to another. The park is spacious and open, plenty of room for family's to really enjoy the park. There is so much to see and do that we went a few times while we were in Rapid city. There were always different activities going on, such as theatrical plays, that were acted out on an outdoor theater that was covered and very well taken care of, there was character sketches that could be drawn of the kids, train rides for a very reasonable price, some days there was face painting. Music is played over a speaker through out the park, and we had a lot of fun playing a game called "guess that kids movie" for the most part the music did not have words and was just instrumental, it was also not so loud that it would give the parents a headache. A nice plus!! Oh this park is free, with just a donation box at the front.

“More Fun Than We Expected”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2013

First off, you can never complain if it's free! Great if you have little kids or a kid at heart. Magic show on Mondays and the Train rides are ony $1.50. All 3 of our kids loved it and gave us a good opportunity to take photos. Give yourself an hour to visit.

“What a magnificent find!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2013

Kids love this place!! It has many storybook characters in life-like form and size. There is a train for smaller children and swings and slides scattered throughout the park. There is also a playground for the smaller children at one end of the park.
It is a free attraction, but if you can afford to, please leave a donation--that's how the place survives! My granddaughter always enjoys "feeding the pig" at the end of our visit!!
