It is hard to expand on the previous reviews, so I will just concur that Summer Creek Inn is simply one of the best B&B here or anywhere. Large, first class bedrooms and public areas, very enjoyable hosts, and wonderful breakfasts. The Inn even seems to attract the nicest guests, all of which we had wonderful breakfast conversations with.

We stayed 4 nights with another couple & could have stayed longer. The hosts really make you feel welcome and encouraged guests to get to know each other. Daniel built custom homes and it shows in the details -- the rooms were huge and well-made and exceptionally clean. Nancy has a real gift for interior design -- luxury touches throughout the building. The Inn hosts numerous weddings and it is easy to see why! We lounged outside on the patio reading, spent every evening in the hot tub looking at the stars, and stuffed ourselves with excellent breakfasts. Nancy was a good guide to restaurants and attractions. A few miles north of Hill City, the Inn could be your base for day trips throughout the entire Black Hills. Saw deer outside at dawn.

If there is a better B&B value in the entire country, I have a hard time fathoming what that would be like. This place was built by the owners as a top flight B&B, and every touch is first class -- including the hosts, Daniel and Nancy, themselves. This is a 5-star plus... even the location is near perfect, close to Mt. Rushmore and the Black Hills, and a short drive to the Badlands. Note that, strictly speaking, this B&B is not in the city per se -- Rapid City is approximately 30 miles away, and the Inn's surroundings are the National Forest. That doesn't mean, however, that excellent dining options are far away. It does mean that you can easily see Mt. Rushmore's lighting at night, and be close to "home". And "home" is well-furnished, homey, full of extra common spaces, and friendly. If you can't be happy here, there is no hope for you.

This Bed and Breakfast is spectacular! The owners are the most friendly, helpful, inviting people. They were great in helping us plan our sightseeing routes each day and planning our course of action. Our suite was beautiful and very clean. The breakfasts were delicious. The property is amazing and the attention to detail very notable. We absolutely loved this place and if we ever get the chance to return to South Dakota, we will definitely not think twice about staying here.
