THIS hotel in so many words is falsly advertising its not like the pictures or the tours they show of this hotel.The mangement had been there for 5 years and know nothing about this hotel. example many of the rooms have the hot as cold and the cold had hot the air conditioner are old and molded if they work. the one in our bedroom did not work and after they work on it it made the room so smell so bad it hard to stay in it. room(520) Chairman suite.( this hotel has nothing that i would call a suite. and if you have a family. You better purchase a room for each peson because they are small small rooms.we had problems: no mircowave to regerators not being in the rooms to staff when they did bring them they tryed putting them on milk creates. (remember this is a chairman suite. a 225.00 a night room. over all you could not pay me to stay here again......

the staff was no help at all and neither was management , the best thing for this hotel is to close its doors........

I love this hotel! It was built in the 1920's and still looks very authentic. My room was a pleasant historic experience, down to the glass doorknobs and bathroom tile appropriate to the period, and a view of the old downtown. I stayed in a traditional queen-sized room, it's not a luxury hotel, but very well maintained and very comfortable. Probably not the best place for travelers who prefer ultra-modern chain hotels, but it's an amazing find for people who enjoy museums, history, etc... and the prices were extremely reasonable. My room was $88 during peak travel season.
Also, the staff were very helpful and friendly. One employee carried my bags to my room because my hands were full carrying my baby. My car had engine problems during my stay and an employee looked up a local Toyota dealership for me even though she was very busy taking phone calls. I was very impressed!

This is the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. The front desk staff was incompetent and that includes the manager. The first room we were given was beyond description and we asked for another. That room had dead flies on all the window ledges, and outside, pigeons and all the droppings on the exterior window ledges.The lamp shade was held together with scotch tape.It was late and we had no other options, we had to stay. We went down to the lobby which was beautiful and very historical, and were very amused by all the other guests requesting changes or complaining about many problems. Next , at 0100 someone tried to get into our room with the wrong key.Then, after we called the front desk to update them we received 2 more calls asking who we were.
We know a big restoration is planned but we think the hotel should be closed while this takes place.

This hotel was the worst one we have ever stayed in - the rooms were dirty and in need of complete revamping. Bedding was worn and stained and our carpet had a large sticky stain on it. The restaurant was shut (thank goodness) and the bar was dark and dingy. To top it all on our last night we had no sleep due to the noise from the air condition units operating on the roof opposite. Even the location of the hotel was in an area that seemed to be run down .
