We stayed at this pet friendly Holiday Inn - Rushmore Plaza during a cross country move. The move was stressful enough, but then, we left a briefcase full of valuables behind & did not notice it was missing for >36 hours. Panicked, we called the hotel and they found it on a housekeeper's cart......with all valuables still inside!!! THANK YOU to the housekeeping staff for their honesty, THANKS ALSO to Savannah (manager) for going way above and beyond to FedEx the briefcase to us in Oregon. Bottom line, then stay was nice, but these folks were awesome AFTER our stay as well, showing a commitment to customer service that should not go unnoticed. Holiday Inn Corporate, are you listening / recognizing this outstanding housekeeping and management staff?

Our experience at the Holiday Inn was unbelievable! My son and his partner were in labor on Christmas Eve but not far enough along to be admitted to the hospital, they lived too from the hospital and it was snowing, so we checked in to the Holiday Inn. Every staff members from the time arrived went above their job duty to make us comfortable and help in anyway they could. Dave the hotel manager was working on Christmas Eve visited with us and came up with a bowl of ice cream with chocolate topping for the new mom to be. We knew that if we needed anything all we had to do was ask and the staff would make it happen if the y could. The little one was born on Christmas Day and unfortunately had to go to the NICU. The entire staff asked every time they saw one of us how the baby was doing and offered prayers and support for her.I can tell you that I have never ever stay in any hotel ever that has gone to the measures that the management of the Holiday Inn has done for my family. The hotel is very clean, quite,there was one problem with noise/partying it took one call to the front desk and the problem was resolved. The food and bar are great, laundry facility nice,clean and a dollar a load. The location is central to shopping and attractions and easy to get in and out of. Our family will be returning to stay whenever we are in Rapid City. Thanks to Dave and . all of your staff you truly are home away from home.

We travel extensively and usually stay in Holiday Inns because of the guest laundry. This Holiday Inn is outstanding. The staff were just incredible, the room was great (and So reasonably priced!), the hotel has a good restaurant, and the whole ambience of the hotel was friendly and accommodating.Our wonderful experience began at the airport, where we went to the shuttle desk to get a ride to the hotel. The young man on the desk wouldn't take our money, as" H I has its own shuttle". He then lent me his cell phone to call them! The shuttle arrived soon after; great service. Nathan in the dining room made us feel really welcome with superb service and witty conversation. But the outstanding employee has to be Twana, who phoned our next hotel where the operator couldn't understand my Aussie accent, and helped me resolve a stressful situation and relieved my anxiety considerably. Twana really went "above and beyond", and I am very grateful to her. Ashley in Reception was also helpful and considerate. We stayed in Rapid City for 4 days; we should have stayed for 4 weeks! The people and sights of South Dakota are just amazing.

The hotel is very well kept and spotless. It is decorated beautifully for Christmas. All the staff at the hotel, from the front desk staff to the restaurant staff and the housekeeping staff are the most helpful and friendliest people that I have ever met. I spent 12 days in a beautiful two room suite facing the park. What a beautiful view. During my stay I met several managers of the hotel, Sherry Beck (hotel manager), Savannah (front office manager) Cindy (gift shop manager), Kelly (restaurant manager) and Dave Heard (night manager). I would like to give a special mention to a wonderful server named Nate. I had breakfast every morning in the restaurant and he was my server the majority of the time. What a pleasure he was, so nice and helpful. The hotel is centrally located in down town Rapid City and within walking distance to many wonderful shops and restaurants. There is a hotel shuttle van that will take you from and to the airport and drop you off and pick you up around town. The front desk staff is very knowlegable of the surrounding tourist spots, shopping, entertainment and restaurants. I joked with them that I could live here 365 days a year, this is how much of an enjoyable stay that I had at this hotel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling on business or pleasure.
