“Very nice place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2013

My room was spacious quiet and clean. It isn't the newest hotel but it was definitely kept up. Was a good value for the price and conveniently located. I did not use the pool and did not have a pool side room. I would opt to not have a pool side room if I were to return.

Except for one minor thing, which was handled nicely by the staff, everything about our stay was nice. The room was clean, if a bit dated, and had all the ammenities desired including a fridge and all worked as expected. My wife appreciates the makeup mirror. The staff was friendly and efficient. We enjoyed the location next to the Missouri and even though our room was at the front, the hotel is far enough from the main street that noise was not an issue.

Room Tip: Some rooms are available with exterior access if desired

Spent weekend in Pierre for a wedding. Another nice stay at the Ramkota Inn. All staff are very especially Sharon who has been a waitress in the Bar from over 25 years. It is nice when the people at the front desk and Sharon recognize and know you by name. This Ramkota Inn does allow pets.

Room Tip: Stayed in 1108 which was an upgrades and recently updated King Bedroom Suite.

I stayed here two days for a convention that was in town and was a little dissapointed. My room had an outside door that was apparently near the staff smoking area. Every time I left the room seemed like there was a group out there at all times. The rooms are outdated and have a bit of a smell to them as well. I walked into my bathroom to see hair on the floor and in the bath tub. However the convention center is nice and very convienent.

Thank you for your response on TripAdvisor. I will talk with our employees and make sure they are in the correct smoking area and not by outside entrances. We are in the process of remodeling rooms and adding amentities such as frig/microwaves. We will go through the down and out rooms. I am sorry for the experience you had will at our facility.

Stayed one night - allowed to check-in early by the helpful receptionist. Room was at the front of the motel and faced the highway but noise wasn't too much of a problem. One thing I noted was a lack of a fridge in the room.

The motel has convention facilities (well used whilst I was there), a restaurant and a bar. Used the restaurant for lunch and enjoyed a delicious and well-priced meal along with efficient and friendly service. Noted there were several locals having meals. Also tried the bar which on the evening I was there was packed out with attendees from at least two conventions. Despite this service was remarkably efficient and staff (and attendees) were friendly.

It should be noted that a seven mile riverside walk is easily accessible from the motel.

Would certainly stay here again.

Dear Gluhwurm,
Thank you for your feedback. I will pass your comments on to the staff. We are adding fridge/microwaves this year. The walking path adjacent to the hotel is very nice at this time of year. Again thank you for your feedback.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2013

Having spent a great deal of time in smaller western towns, I have grown to expect a lower range motel as the standard fare. The Ramkota is certainly a step up from my expectations.

The hotel is rather large, and driving through the parking lot reveals multiple exterior doors. Some are certainly exterior access to guest rooms, but the purpose of others is unclear. This can make it a little challenging to get around. One concern I had was that the exterior access door nearest my room was never locked. As the door was in the rear of the building, I was concerned about the security.

The interior of the hotel was rather sprawling. As there is an indoor pool area as well as several hallways, it is a good idea to ask for specific directions. Also, I never found an elevator in the hotel. If you have difficulty with stairs or have a large bag, it would be best to ask for a room on the first floor.

The guest rooms were spacious and the beds comfortable. There was no wall thermostat to adjust the heat/air, but the controls on the unit worked very well. The bathroom was clean and provided ample towels, soaps, shampoos, etc.

Despite the concerns I mentioned, I would stay at the Ramkota again. It provides a comfortable stay and is in a prime location.

Room Tip: If you have trouble with stairs, be sure to ask for a first-floor room.

Thank you for you comments. We will make sure the outside doors are locked in the evenings. We will put more directional signs in the hallways. I will instruct our front desk to ask guests on the second floor if they need help with luggage upon check-in. We appreciate the compliments concerning our property.

Right off the main road and beside the Missouri River. Beautiful grounds and upkept building. The accomodations were superb. The rooms were nice and spacious. The work area was comfortable. The rooms are nice and quiet. You hear nothing but your breathing. The staff is wonderful and polite...they are very helpful. I'll stay here everytime. This hotel has a conference facility although we did not use it. It appears to be quite adequate for business needs. The bar is convienient and good, morning breakfast at their restaurant was adequate.
The only thing I did not care for is that they have no elevator. Going up the stairs with my bags was not difficult but a bit uncomfortable. They did offer to take my bags up for me, but I declined. Parking at this hotel is excellent. There is room in back for large trucks or those pulling camper/boats/trailers. You can turn a truck and trailer around in the lot in the back of the hotel. The front lot is very nice and there is plenty of rom for several cars. Nice cleam facilities all th eway through. Jason, the front desk....is knowledgable for the area and a very pleasant person. They provide wake up (that works)....and info for the area. They have a courtesy van that will take you where you need to go and pick you up. They offer Express Check out and that is exceptional for business people.
They hae a very large indoor pool and facilities. This would be a great place for a family to enjoy. The mattress was very firm and comfortable and the air conditioner/heater for the Room worked exceptionally.

Room Tip: I stayed in 2150. You could park in back and walk up the stairs straight into your room. It made i...
