After driving 13 hours, we stopped at this hotel and we thought we made a mistake. Turns out the dated, blah exterior was the only thing blah. Hotel interior was very nice -- spacious lobby, room and its bathroom were very clean. Bedding was very comfortable.

Breakfast was slightly above average, some hot food in addition to the typical contential breakfast fare.

There's not much between Sioux Falls and Rapid City (except for the tourist trap Wall Drug), so best to make your reservation here if you're driving through.

Clean and newly renovated room with king bed, a very good value. Motel has a nice indoor pool with sauna and whirlpool. Friendly staff. Breakfast better than average. Only negative is no elevator.

This hotel is a great find for the money: 20-30 less than a comparable room in a similar local hotel. The exterior indicates that the hotel is older, but the entire interior is recently remodled and is tastefully done. Our two-queen room was large and had four fluffy pillows on each bed. My only complaint, and it isn't really a complaint, is that the bathroom is a typical small hotel bathroom. From the inside, the hotel looks as if it were just built. Even the hot tub seemed new. The pool, which might be the only thing that wasn't remodled, was fairly large for a hotel pool and seemed clean. I would definitely stay here again since the room is great and the price is a bargain.

  • Liked — The price and the newly remodled interior.
  • Disliked — no complaints here

The room needed an update, but was laid out nicely and was large. The sofa was not new. The common areas including the pool were very nice. There was a computer for public use with a printer. The laundry room was right off the pool, so you could do laundry and watch the kids in the pool. The hot tub was nice and the breakfast was good, but no hot foods except what was heated in microwave or toaster.

  • Liked — Pool and hot tub
  • Disliked — room need and update, but I think they are in that process

My job requires me to travel over 225 days a year so I have seen my share of hotel/motels.

I have stayed at this location many times, but this particular instant was an exception. It was mid March this year, 2007. A HUGE snow strom was blowing thru and the interstate was closing. I was able to get a room at the Quality Inn. Nothing unusual about that, right? Well, the strom was so bad that most of the town including all types of food places were closing early. The next day brought the expected, roads closed etc. This continued over the next 2 days running. The manager had her mother and family prepare food and bring it to the hotel to feed the guests 3 different times. As well, kept the coffee brewing and the 'Snack/Breakfast Bar' open for guest the entire time. It was an unexpected surprise to be taken care of so well by other than direct family.

The hotel has been very recently decorated and well appointed. The staff are always ready to help or advise on local places to go or eat.

Yes for most of us, Mitchell is in the middle of nowhere, but this hotel helps to greatly reduce that feeling.

  • Liked — The best attitude you can ask for from the staff.
  • Disliked — So far from the beach!

We stayed there on july 29 06 for one nite 3 adults and 2 children it was a very nice stay everyone was friendly and helpful Most importantly the room and entire hotel was clean and they honored our special requests of extra pillows and towels promptly. They had a nice continental breakfast as well. I would stay there again.
