“good food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2013

It was recommended by the clerk at the Super 8 to come here for breakfast while we were riding motorcycle in the area. She didn't steer us wrong. The food was good and we received large portions. We had to wait 20 - 30 minutes for our food but it was worth it.
It is a great ride/drive getting to Cheyenne Crossing coming through Spearfish Canyon and the area is full of great history.

“Great breakfast!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2013 via mobile

This place was exactly what we expected after reading the reviews. It's uniquely Dakotan! The service was great! Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. As most people reported, we waited a long time for our food- 30-40 minutes. But it was very good!! We would definitely come back!!

“Great setting, great food!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013

Cheyenne Crossing Store and Cafe is a destination with flavor! Not only are the surroundings a gorgeous setting in the forest of the Black Hills...the food is so fun- indian tacos (the best around), great burgers, super sour dough pancakes, endless iced tea or coffee. It's a must for any visit to Spearfish Canyon.

“Eat Where the Locals Eat”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2013

Nice local cafe/restaurant. W stopped on Sunday around 12:30 and didn't leave until 2:00! The wait to get a seat was almost as long as the one to get our food, but it was worth it. The Indian flatbread is delicious. Ours was the foundation of a taco salad. Our waitress was friendly, helpful and prompt. Her statement "this is not a fast food establishment, but the food is great", was true. We waited about 40 minutes for the order, but enjoyed watching the crowd and of course the food too. I would recommend this for people who want to experience the local flavor of the food and the culture. Tip: if you're ordering the flatbread with toppings for dessert, do it about halfway through your meal so you won't be waiting so long again.
