“beautiful location, wonderful wine, helpful staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2013

This is a lovely winery in a picturesque location. Their tasting bar is well staffed and very knowledgeable. We enjoyed several wines with pairing recommendations. Lots of cute gift items also. Would definitely recommend stopping in and taking in a meal too.

“Great experience, pretty expensive bottles”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2013

Went to Prairie Berry while enjoying a week at Sturgis. Beautiful place, great wine-tasting (free), and an overall good experience. Unfortunately, if you're a dry red or dry white kind of person, your bottle is a hefty $25.00. After living in Italy for four years, it's not worth that price. Needs to be priced at around $17.00 to make the experience terrific. I'd still recommend stopping by, do the free wine-tasting and form your own opinion.

“Good wine if you don't mind spending $20 or more a bottle.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2013

We do like this place. We come every Sturgis time and have a bottle of Red __ Rhubarb.(can't say name on this site) It is the wine they push. It is sweet and red. You can taste the rhubarb. Menu seemed bigger this year. Food is always good. We get the pizza. You must like mushrooms to get it. My only complaint about this place is the price of everything. They should offer more than 10 percent discount for a case. Nice outdoor seating. You can watch the bikes go by. They have beer, too. They have some wine gifts. I did not do the free tastings. It takes forever. I have tried several wines. I liked them all. It is fun to drink them here. A good memory. I stopped buy the cases because of the prices. It is a fun stop, but bring your money.

“Nice winery!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2013

5 free samples per person. We enjoyed our time at this winery. We did purchase about 6 bottles of wine between the 5 of us. Also bought some of the buffalo salami (very good) and the raspberry-rhubarb compote (excellent). We grilled pork chops a few days ago and brushed on some of the compote. Delicious! Now I'm going to have them ship me some or just head back to the hills! I like the idea of going back, wish we did'nt live so far away!

Thank you for visiting and taking the time to write a review. So glad you enjoyed our wine and so many of the additional things we offer. You are in good company on the compote, too. It has been a runaway hit with many of our guests! Thank you for your order!

“Local winery with free samples and unique favors.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013 via mobile

Popped in here to try the Red [--] Rhubarb wine advertised heavily on billboards and brochures. Ended up sampling 5 different wines and buying 6 bottles (5% discount if buy 5 and 10% if buy 12). Each adult gets 5 samples. My wife and I selected 5 different wines so got to sample 10 by sharing!! Helpful staff explained each wine before tasting. Also handed out pamphlet with info about each wine. Nice thing to do for 45-min. This winery is only 1 of 3 in area that get grapes locally from within SD.
