“Quick Fire Tour of Deadwood”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2013 via mobile

The tour lasts just over an hour and you get a potted history of the town. The highlight is the visit to the cemetery and the graves of WIld BIll and Calamity Jane. You're allowed time to take photographs although you don't have the chance to look round and see the other parts of the place. The town owes a debt of thanks to WIld Bill as he is a major contributor to the town's income. The tour guide and driver gave a very humorous commentary from start to finish, he had a well rehearsed script and it went down well with the people on the bus, including us. The bus is an old vehicle but it gets you there and is part of the fun. Overall a nice little tour and good value for money, not too long and at a relaxed pace.

“Never laughed so much during a tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2013

It's worth the trip to Deadwood, SD, just to take the 1 hour bus tour of the city. You get it right outside the Casino and Diamond Lil's Bar. Get on the bus wwith Jan, your bearded guide. The laughs and commentary start before you get on the bus. The tour goes slowly through the town's points of interests and he gives you lots of side lights and anecdotes. We were so glad we took the tour. we learned alot and laughed alot. Start or end with a meal and tour at the Casino and bar.

“Brilliant tour with a first class guide”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2013

The tour vehicle is bit decrepit but this allowed the guide to start his talk on a humourous note which he maintained throughout the visit. He really made the places and the history come alive, no more so than at the graves of Calamity Jane and Wild Bill Hickok. The history of Deadwood was painted by him in vivid colours , the gambling ,the brothels , the gold mining, the characters, the buildings and , of course , Boot Hill itself where the town's famous inhabitants are buried.
Definitely one of the highlights of our holiday, Kevin Costner who owns the company should really include the guide in one of his films.

“Lousy Tour”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2012

This tour was a waste of time, Jan the driver, picked us up at, Tatanka, just outside Deadwood and took us down to the main street. There was a staged gun fight happening, we couldn't get past the crowd watching, so we watched as well, this was not part of the tour, this is something anyone can see at various times, after that we went to the edge of town to take a photo of the welcome to Deadwood sign, travelling back through town he pointed out some buildings, but he was more interested in telling, old, third rate jokes, in his gruff voice, he got some chuckles, but I thought he was pretty boring. When I asked when do we go to the Mount Moriah Cemetery, which is advertised on their Internet site, he just looked at me and said "I don't go there", I was disappointed, I ended up walking there later to see Wild Bill Hickoks, Calamity Janes and Seth Bullocks grave sites, as a matter of fact, except for the Welcome To Deadwood sign, it was just as easy to do everything on foot, it all had signs telling the historic significance of each building.
I would recommend doing "The Boot Hill Tour", it only costs a dollar extra.
