This is a tough one, the attitude of the waitress is hard to overlook.
We met my college roommate and his wife, her sister and husband for dinner on our last night of the Sturgis rally. My roommate is a local and always comes up with an unusual or out-of-the-way spot to visit.
He raved about this restaurant and assured us biker gear was fine for dress.
We waited for over an hour downstairs in the Old Number 10 Saloon after we were first told it would be 30 minutes and then 10 minutes when a member of the party went up to check. The buzzer never did go off so we "stormed" the place and were immediately seated at the best table in the house; outdoors overlooking the street.
The snotty (there's an archaic term for you) little waitress caught us all by surprise. No sense of humor, no personality, nothing.
Beverages and food were delivered in a fairly timely manner with the waitress still copping an attitude.
Good food, conversation and beverage made it a very nice evening, in fact, the highlight of our Sturgis experience.
My ex-roommate filled out a comment card castigating our waitress and was eventually rewarded with an apology and a gift certificate from the manager.
Again, a tough one, the evening with friends probably skewing the rating to the good.
