“A Good Place in Deadwood”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2012

We've stayed in Deadwood a number of times, and this is the best place we've found.

It is relatively new, and the rooms are clean and tastefully decorated. I must say a word about the bathrooms. They are large, well-lighted, and the fan actually clears the fog from the mirror. If you shave after a shower, you'll appreciate it. The Lodge is quiet, and we found the staff to be efficient and helpful.

The only negatives here are that breakfast does not come with the room, and you are about a mile from the center of town. However, if you don't want to drive down there a shuttle bus comes by every hour.

On balance, though, this is a good place. We would definitely stay there again.

The Lodge at deadwood is the best we saw in Deadwood. Thats not saying much though. There isnt much in Deadwood. The casino was nice and not very crowded. They seemed very tight on their slots. Its a smoke free casino...The hotel is kinda expensive for the area..The area of Deadwood is rundown. It seems like a town that was once on top then bottom ot and is tying to make a come back. If you are here for Bike week its close to Sturgis. As we were leaving neither my wife or I could figure out the large amount of tourists. I has to be the many casinos. We stayed here becuse of the location of the lodge as it was close to Devils Tower. If you are going to Deadwood this is the nicest place around. It sits on top of a huge hill. You can ride the trolley around Deadwood for a small fee. The restraunt was expensive. You feel a though you are trapped because there isnt anything close to eat so you have to eat here. The pool area was for little kids.

Room Tip: The Balcony was neat but not worth it.

Thank you for taking the time to write your review on TripAdvisor! It is greatly appreciated to hear feedback from our guests. We are sorry to hear that you didn’t win big during your vacation in the casino. Deadwood has a lot of great history with a ton of historic building and many things to see and do. We stayed at The Lodge at Deadwood during our trip to Sturgis and could not recommend it more highly. The rooms were beautiful and very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again next time. Everything you could need is right there.

Thank you for taking time to review our property on Tripadvisor. It was a great Sturgis Rally this year with great weather and a lot of motorcycles around the hills. With appeal free parking for the trailer and bike we are the perfect locations for Sturgis Rally visitors. We look forward to seeing you at next year’s Sturgis Rally.

We visited because a local suggested the restaurant. Everything here is First Class right down to Vegas style casino. The food and service were wonderful! It still has a rustic cham and lovley views. Not at all stuffy. Staff were very attentive, and personable. Go up the hill...it's definatly worth a stop.

Just spent the weekend there, came down for the Sturgis rally.Great staff everyone was very friendly and very helpfull. They sent a shuttle to pick the wife up at the airport. The flight was late by 2 hours late they just waited for her,no trouble or big deal.Shuttled into town a couple of times did not have to wait for the bus or get a taxi. They even had a bike wash set up out back for the many motorcyclests that where staying there on the weekend. We ate in the sports pub and restaraunt a couple of time good meals and great service at a reasonable price. Thanks to the staff for a wonderfull weekend.

Room Tip: There are rooms with balconys for the smokers

What a beautiful hotel, friendly staff. Western theme beautifully appointed rooms. Located outside of Deadwood but just up the hill. Restaurants are both wonderful. You can't go wrong. Kids will love the pirate ship in the pool and little ones are safe due to a gradual slope into the water. There isn't a choice in Deadwood anywhere as nice as the Lodge at Deadwood.

We actually had our wedding reception and had all our wedding guests stay here in September 2010. They were brand new at the time and were fabulous. The staff was so helpful and always available. The catering was wonderful and the ballroom was beautiful. We had many out of state guests who very much enjoyed their stay. Many of our friends and family have returned to stay here and have had great experiences every time. Families with children seem to really love the pool!
