Great hotel, staff VERY friendly, room are nothing special but very clean. Went to the Restaurant for both breakfast and supper and it was very good. Casino staff where very friendly . They have parking next door for larger trailers which we had so that worked out great. The trolley bus that takes you downtown was a GREAT idea. Leave your car go for supper and drinks with NO worries. Only cost $1 ....... Just booked this hotel again for next August and cant wait !!!!

Room Tip: One side has a lift and the other doesnt so if you cant do stairs make sure you tell them when booki...

Thought we would only be staying here one night, ended up staying three nights. It was such a serene, relaxing venue. Delicious breakfast in the morning, shuttle into town and then hitting the casino at night.

Our teenage son & daughter were not bored once while staying here...wooo, hooo!

Room Tip: Next to the stream.

You have us figured out!! That creek behind us is one of the hidden treasures in Deadwood. I'm so glad you enjoyed staying with us. There is so much to do within an hour drive time that we are the perfect place to sleep and unwind after a day of touring, snowmobiling, skiing, hiking, biking, etc. I hope you were able to watch a bit of the wildlife on property too. We even have a mountain lion occasionally check us out from accross the creek.
I'm really happy you were able to bring your entire family and that everyone had a good time and thank you for taking the time to write us such a nice review. We really appreciate it!!!
Kind regards,
Tracy

Pleasantly surprised to find a nice room. Very large and clean. Some downfalls were that it was a non-smoking room, but had a smell of smoke or trying to mask the smoke. I'm no gambler and was only passing through Deadwood for one night so I found the lobby to be just too claustrophobic and overwhelming with the casino right there. Fortunately I could access the room without going through the lobby. Breakfast coupon was good and food was good, but service was slow. I'd stay again because the price was right and it was out of the Deadwood fray. Perfect for an overnight stay

during the recent blizzard my friends and I were abandoned at the gulch by the owner of the hotel we actually stayed at. long story short, the staff at the Deadwood Gulch were amazing and friendly and went above and beyond to ensure we were taken care of. All of our things were at our hotel while we were stuck at the gulch for 3 days but like I said they were more concerned with our welfare then the owner of the hotel we stayed at. they found us a room that was so comfortable. my only complaint is I didn't get a rubber duckie. This is our new favorite place and will only stay here on our visits from now on.

We stayed three nights in the Deadwood Gulch the last week of September and enjoyed our stay there. This is our third stay at this property so given that we keep returning I'd say we like it. Personally I am not much of a gambler and that is the main thing to do in Deadwood so that part I don't enjoy but as far as the room goes it was clean, comfortable and quiet. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and are very helpful. The breakfast coupons provided for the adjacent restaurant are appreciated. We enjoyed a side trip to Mount Rushmore and in to Spearfish and to Lead for a bit of shopping as there is nothing except souvenir shops in Deadwood. I would not recommend Deadwood as a destination for young families but there are a lot of things to see and do in the surrounding area.

Room Tip: Make sure you get the room you booked and paid for. We were given a room with two queen beds and ha...

Snotty front desk clerk with only 3 front teeth and a disgusting ear hole expander. Should have left immediately! M mistake. 2nd floor room w poor accesibility. Too far from downtown. Afraid to try the breakfast. Think i will pass. Would NEVER recommend this dive!

Let me paint a picture of what we offer if you take advantage of it.
Well kept lot, trees, shrubs, flowers etc. is the first thing you will notice from the road. Of course we have a beautiful tree covered rock wall behind us with rolling hills surrounding us. Soft white lights surround the property in the evening and the white lights set off the trees that are in the center of our well lit parking lot. When you come in the front doors, you are greeted by a small casino. You walk along the path just 30 feet to our front desk. Most likely by the time you get there, the cashier or bartender has already smiled and greeted you with a friendly hello. At this point, I'm sure you'll smell the complimentary popcorn and coffee that is always fresh in the lounge. Once you arrive at the front desk and are welcomed, we try to find the room that fits you best. Try one or our creekside rooms where you can open your window to the amazing sounds of the creek behind us. Or if you prefer, take a room that has a parkinglot side entrance in addition to the inside door. You can step outside your room if you smoke or sit outside just to take in the fresh Black Hills air. We do have a wing without an elevator for those willing to walk up just one flight of stairs. As you enter your room, you will notice the new 39" flat screen tv, new carpet, bathroom vanity and some beautiful local scenic artwork. A themed rubber duck awaits you in the bathroom and expects to go home with you upon your departure. As you decide to visit the casino, you will notice fun and exciting new machines. While you are playing with one of our players cards out casino host or bartender will bring you complimentary cookies, well drink, wine, or tap beer. All surprisingly included in your visit. Take a step out on our amazing creekside deck/yard area and sip a cocktail while enjoying some late night food from the bar. Watch the local wildlife play across the creek or possibly enjoy the rabbits that live under the back deck. After you've had your fill of all that is The Gulch for the evening, retire to your room, enjoy a wonderful nights sleep on your Denver Mattress bed and awake refreshed. Enjoy your complimentary hot breakfast in the restaurant and add a fresh home made donut or caramel roll just for fun. (after all you are on vacation) Take one of our cupcakes or some home made fudge as an afternoon treat. Find just the perfect gift in our wine/liquor/gift shop or just take them more fudge. By this time you will have made a number of friends that will wish you a great trip home and who will be looking forward to your next visit. That is what we have to offer here at Deadwood Gulch. Please be expecting those things upon your arrival and you will not be disappointed.

Enjoyed the casino. Black jack dealer was very friendly. Rooms were okay. Got in rather late and we were disappointed to find that the dining room had closed. Had a hard time finding anyplace in town to eat. Ended up at Mustang Sallys.
