5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2013 via mobile

I have stayed there a couple of times and I love it the watermark is great! Then when you get to the room it is very nice. You get a big hd flat screen tv. It is a new hotel very clean hotel with a free breakfast. And a great hotel for Business travelers. And families. It is pet friendly so you can bring your furry friend with you. Right next to a good pizza place. The staff is very nice. I loved it

Thanks for the kind words about our hotel! I am pleased that you had fun in the waterpark. Things to look for on your next trip....we just switched to Bath and Bodyworks amenities in our guest rooms and people are really enjoying the new products. Also, we are in the process of getting all new bigger pillows for every bed to make your night's sleep even better. Come back soon.

After checking on a couple of other hotels in Sioux falls with a water park for the kids we decided on this one with the help of other posts on trip adviser. Very satisfied in the hotel and the pool, the only thing that I could really complain about was the smaller kid pool/park water was very cold. And every time somebody opened the door to get into the pool area a cold artic breeze would almost freeze the little kids right in the spot where they were swimming. So we were pleasantly supprised when they would stop the big slide and let the kids play in that water which was very noticeably warmer. Rooms were very clean and the breakfast was what hit the spot in the morning with many things to pick from. (I do wish they would have had more fresh fruit tho) beds were very comfortable. Hotel was easy to find although trying to get to the road to the motel was a little tuff(curb hop into the parking lot, only to find the road when we left to go eat) liked how the pool attendant did his job by keeping the smaller kids out of the hot tub. Would I stay here again?? The answer is yes.

Thanks for staying with us! I am glad you picked us and we lived up to your expectations. It is important to keep the play pool warm, and we have increased the temperature based on feedback from you and other guests. I spoke with my maintenance team this morning and we are going to monitor it closely over the next few weeks to see that we maintain a good temperature.

Thanks too for the positive words about our pool staff; we work hard to choose employees who are aware and committed to helping our guests have a great hotel experience. Come see us again; and check out our great jacuzzi suites for a very upscale escape from winter!

5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2012

I couldn't wait to review this place. We stayed here last night (December 1, 2012). I am an avid trip advisor checker. Before every trip we make, I check here for the hotel to book and where to eat. We stayed here based on the positive reviews and we agree. Although a bit out of the way if your intentions are for Sioux Falls, it's worth the few miles to drive. We stayed as a family with children and a dog. Yes they are pet friendly but charge a 15.00 plus tax pet fee.

Two days before our arrival, I got a call from the hotel stating they saw we had children and were calling to let us know a heater went out in the pool and the temp was around 72 degrees and wanted us to know that. I thought that was, in itself, the best and most thoughtful thing a hotel had ever done. I had asked if that meant the pool would be closed. The lady said, "no but we just wanted you to know so there weren't any suprizes upon arrival" and if I "had small children it may be really cold for them". We were blown away by the thoughtfulness of the call and didn't even think about cancelling.

Upon arrival, the front desk lady was super friendly and made me feel right at home. She explained in detail that the little folder I got contained two keys, 4 waterpark wristbands, and the code for free wireless internet. And told us exactly how to get to our third floor room. She also gave us the hours of the waterpark. All this without us asking.

The room was very clean and modern. Flat screen tv with directv was a bonus. The beds were by far the most comfortable hotel beds we ever stayed in. Each queen bed came with 4 pillows (with pillow cases that were embroidered on the side either "firm" or "soft"). I slept like a baby. There was a fridge and a microwave in our room as well.

The waterpark was fun. The slide was even fun for my husband and I. The slide empties out into the pool with a basketball hoop so they alternate waterslide and free pool time. So half the time the kids get to go down the slide and half the time the slide is closed and it's free pool play. The idea works great because the kids never get bored since it's always changing. The kiddie waterpark was separate and was the part that was cold "broke". It was quite chilly but didn't stop any kiddo from going in it. The only thing we didn't like was that the hot tub specifically stated "no one allowed under 12" and the thing was packed with small children splashing and stepping on us adults. The waterpark lifeguard was allowing it and I assume it was because the baby park was so cold (broke) so it gave the really little ones a place to play. The lifeguard came over several times and told the little guys they could be in there only if they sat down on the edge but as soon as he turned his back those little buggers were jumping and splashing again. I blame the negligent parents for this and not the lifeguard because his job was busy for sure! There were so many kiddos! And he was constantly pulling kids out of the water or helping them get tubes for the slide. I felt sorry for him. Lets just say there were many parents drinking beer and not watching their children very closely. At one point a drunk "parent" yelled "that's my boy" when the 4-6 year old was being scolded by the lifeguard for climbing on the outside top of the waterslide. The rowdy party may not have even been guests since they had a top locking pool door tied open by a towel and were exiting/entering from there out of sight from the lifeguard/cameras.

Now for the best part... The FREE breakfast. Continental breakfasts are unfortunately dying out in the hotel world. I believe the best part of a hotel stay is when you get a hearty free hotel breakfast. It says a lot about a hotel. This was the best breakfast we had from a hotel ever. They had 3 different milks, toast, english muffins, muffins, bagels, scrambled eggs, biscuits n gravy, sausage, pancakes, warm cinnamon buns, fresh fruit, cereals, oatmeal, a juice bar, and a coffee station with diferent coffees and add-ins. AND that's the stuff I could remember. It was awesome!

We will stay here again if ever in the area.

Thanks for staying with us with your family. The waterpark is a boatload of fun, and the kids love it when the parents ride the slide too! We do try to hire staff members who love working with our guests, and I appreciate your kind words about them. I have printed out your review and will be sure to share it with the employees. And breakfast....what is not to love about lots of choices and someone else to do the dishes! Glad you enjoyed it. Come see us again. Next time check out our huge jacuzzi suites and you can have your own family hot tub! Have a Merry Christmas.

I was expecting the standard Holiday Inn Express but was delighted to find this hotel had a tremendous pool area with kiddie area and a waterslide (think waterpark waterslide, not some lame 10 ft high model). They also had a poolside room great for catering in dinner. My company contracted to have our employees stay here for a business conference and all said that breakfast was great, the beds were comfortable, and they would love to stay here again.

Thanks for sending in the review. I am glad you and your associates had a great time in our waterpark; with a 210 foot raft slide adults have just as much fun as the kids! And what a great way to unwind after a week of meetings and training. We are looking forward to having your group back next year for another fun time.

We stayed one night while traveling between cities. The hotel seemed a bit older and run down. The first room we were assigned smelled of smoke, but the young man at the front desk was polite and accommodating and moved us to a different room. Also, the carpets were older, and the door handle on our room door was loose and seemed well used. We found the beds soft, and both of us woke up a little stiff in the morning. From a food standpoint, things were a bit challenging. Unless you are willing to eat at the sports bar type restaurant next door, the options in Brandon are few and far between. Also, while the complimentary breakfast was convenient, it was difficult to find a healthy option. On a positive note, the hotel was quiet, and the room was fairly clean. And the hotel sits right on Interstate 90, making it easily accessible for those passing through.

Thanks for staying with us this summer. I am sorry that we fell short in some of the areas you mentioned. We are a totally non-smoking hotel and it is rare that our guests ignore that, but unfortunately it does happen. I am glad that we were able to promptly move you to an appropriate room. Regarding food options both in and out of the hotel; we do always have yogurt, fresh fruit, hardboiled eggs and oatmeal for a healthy start to the day (although it IS hard to go past our cinammon rolls and pancakes and sausage)! And for nearby options, another chain restaurant is opening a half mile south of the hotel this month, and the Brandon steakhouse gets very good reviews as well. If you are headed this way for any of your holiday celebrations we hope that you will stop and see us again.

Our family of 4 including 2 young boys stayed here in August 2012. We were pleasantly suprised with our last minute choice of a hotel. Room was clean and quite large. The pool area had a cute area for young kids and an amazing slide that our 7 year old loved. I liked that the pool had a dedicated lifeguard. Close to some restaurants for late night dining. We would stay again.

Kids love our waterslide! There is no better way to ensure a good night's sleep than having your child climb up to the top of our 210 foot waterslide a dozen or more times after being in a car all day! We love being part of great family experiences, and hope you come back again to visit us soon. Thanks for writing.

We enjoyed our stay over labor day weekend. Although we had teenage girls, they liked the slide and hot tub at the pool. Exercise room was nice. Our suite was large enough for the 5 of us to spread out. The room was very clean and updated. Beds comfortable. Staff friendly. Price was reasonable considering it was a "waterpark" hotel. The breakfast was very good with both hot and cold choices. We would definitely go back!!

Room Tip: All the rooms seemed equally good.

Thanks for taking the time to write about your experience here, and your kind words about our hotel and staff. It can be tricky to find a place with something that appeals to adults and teenagers, so we are glad everyone in your family enjoyed their time here. Since you mentioned our fitness center I wanted to let you know that in addition to our onsite center, we have access to a full gym just down the street as well for our guests where there are even more ways to work up an appetite for our breakfast of pancakes, cinnamon rolls, etc.! As the cold weather sets in, keep us in mind for another great weekend getaway in the waterpark.
