“Easy in and easy out”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2013

We stayed at this campground overnight on our trip to Florida. We have a 27 foot 5th wheel with a slideout. We had a nice sight that was easy to get into and out of and close to I -95. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the showers and restrooms very clean. I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: The price for the night with a KOA Value card was 32.40!!!!

Nice KOA but I95 make it hard to say more will not stay here again. It is a nice park but you can not sit outside at all. May be ok for a quick over night. Staff were nice and tried to make our stay good

Super amenities but over priced for dirt camping. Loved the campground, staff, pizza pub and winery, BUT $47 per night on dirt is too expensive. I wouldn't mind if we had patios or concrete, but we don't and I've swept the floor twice tonight because of the dirt.

What a great Spot. Wine Tasting. Nice Staff, had a great time. Just opened Club K-9 for doggies. Cute little cabins. Had a nice pool and a Coffee House also. You can get Pizza and Wings. Small Lake in the back, very quite. We visited Beaufort, Bluffton and Hilton Head.

Nice place to stay! Lots of trees, so shad was not a problem. The people were very friendly and the campground was clean and well maintained. Used this place as a place to visit Hilton Head one day and Charleston the next. I would stay in one of their camping cabins again.

We spent the night at Point South KOA in a motorhome with slide-outs. Point South is one of our favorite KOAs and we stay there regularly when we are traveling on I-95. Definitely recommended!

The pros are: (1) The Swimming Mermaid Coffee House. You can get delicious coffee, wine, pizza, wings and ice cream! They will also deliver pizza to your site. There is wine tasting every night at 6:30 PM. The wines are local to the Carolinas and Georgia, and there is a very nice selection with something for every taste. (2) Very convenient location with easy access to I-95, and it's about half-way between Charleston and Savannah. (3) Although there are no concrete pads, sites are reasonably level and nicely-shaded. (4) Free cable. (4) Free wi-fi. (5) Pool and hot tub; (6) The staff is always friendly, helpful and welcoming.

We also spent a night there last month and we had our 7 year old grandson with us. While we tasted wine, he ate pizza and got to color a Point South KOA backpack with fabric markers. We all had a great time!

We don't travel with pets, but Point South is very dog-friendly with a new K-9 Kamp area for dogs to run around.

The cons are--and these wouldn't be negatives for everyone: (1) Our Verizon phones had a very weak signal--enough to text, but not enough to make phone calls. (2) We couldn't get a satellite signal because of the the trees, but since there is cable, it wasn't really a problem.

We stayed at this delightful campground on our way home from our vacation. It's easy to find and signs for the campground are well marked. The owners are absolutely delightful. We had a medical issue and they were most helpful. For an overnight stop, you can't do better! Every site is level and most are pull through with full hook ups. Their main office features basic supplies, several types of coffee and even nightly wine tastings. The facilities are super clean. The campground is quiet. All in all, exactly what we were looking for. Next time we go through this area, we'll certainly stay here again!

Room Tip: Sites near the office are closest to restrooms and the pool!
