“Always Great!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2013 via mobile

This place is always great and in demand for locals. If you have to wait the Bar is great with friendly staff. I saw the last review that seems to be very picky, try this place again and as a former owner of a place just like this I can tell you that this is a place that my wife and I go to see old friends and get some great simple food. The value is great and the food is always the best, they do not put on any airs and do not try and be something they are not.

“REALLY?”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2013

Reservations @ 7:30, Waited at least 1 hour before Salads. Served with packaged crackers & 2 slices of butter from stick. Salad good. Scallops not special. Sweet potato plain, butter in 3 bowl condiment container with sour cream and bacon bits. No brown sugar or cinnamon. Baklava to go - What? Really? Baklava? layer of Phyllo dough covered with about 1/2 inch pecan-honey "THICK, HEAVY" mixture, topped with another phyllo dough triangle slightly browned.(Dont chop pecans, call it pecan pie) would not recommend this place.

“Always the Best Choice for a night out”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2013

I have been going to this restaurant for 37 years and have NEVER received a bad meal. The service is impeccable, the food great, and the atmosphere is quiet and very personal. If you want good food at a great price, then please visit. The menu has been expanded over the years and is now on par with any restaurant in Greenville with modest prices for the quality of food.

“Best Steak in Greenville”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2012

The Open Hearth has the best steaks AND Fried Chicken I have ever had. This is on of Greenville's classics! I have been eating at The open Hearth for 40 years and have never been disappointed. This is a must!

“Excellent Birthday Dinner!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2012

I was taken to the Open Hearth for my 60th birthday. It was on a Wednesday night and as a special, I had fried lobster tail. It was absolutely delicious. The server was excellent. The atmosphere was wonderful. I could not have had a better birthday dinner. I will definitely be returning!
