“Buffet Style Eatery at Popular Prices”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

The restaurant is filled with wonderful smells of healthy foods; rotisserie chicken, steamed broccoli, fresh salad, and fresh fruits, with a choice low carbohydrate or high protein eating selections. The restaurant is manged experienced personnel that continue to look for areas of improvement. The staff is loyal and dependable aiming to please the customers. You could become friends with them over time. The menu is varied with such selections as; chicken alfredo, pizza, tacos, white fish, meat loaf, ribs, pot roast, mashed potatoes, etc. Desserts are included in the price. Do yourself a favor and head over to Ryan's in Surfside Beach, South Carolina.

“Good Food, Good Value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2012

We visited Ryan's on a weeknight recently. It was our second time dining there.

There is a wide variety of food to choose from. Most of the southern staples are there, from seasoned collards to mac and cheese, but the selection is by no means limited to that. There was a nice salad bar, with assorted varieties of lettuce and a decent number of toppings. In addition, they had a carving station with roast beef and ham, and a grilling station featuring steak. And, of course, a dessert bar.

The food is good quality, and was constantly being replenished by friendly staff. The table service was excellent, with dirty plates removed and drinks refilled promptly. During our dinner, the manager came to our table to make sure that we were satisfied with food and service.

Ryan's is not trying to be a gourmet restaurant. But I think that they succeed in what they are trying to be: a family-style, casual buffet with good food. If you go there with that expectation, you will probably like it.

“Filthy”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2012

It smelled like rotten food. We had a coupon off so we thought we would try it. They have carpeting around the food bar and there is food ground into the carpet around the bars. It stinks like rotten food and foul sewer smell. I hardly could stand to eat there. Couple that with the fact that our server worked our entire side of the restaurant but Management leaned against the wall and chatted up one of the other servers who looked younger and single. I watched this go on the entire time we were there almost an hour. It convinced me that the entire staff was lazy and dirty from the upper staff down and that was why it stunk so bad there. I will not return
