“Emloyees were only redeeming quality”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2014

Hotel rooms were hard to find in Summervile, so we were desperate for a place to stay. This is one of the dirtier hotels we've ever stayed in. The carpet throughout the hotel had obviously not been vacuumed in a while - all of the dirt, lint, paper, string, etc., were ground into the fibers. There was a wooden piece missing from the molding around our shower, and it looked like someone took a tissue or piece of toilet paper and stuffed the hole with it. The walls, and the ceiling, were dingy - they were in need of a good paint job. The mattresses on the beds were sunken in the middle. The breakfast was a small continental breakfast, so we ended up going to Chick-fil-A. We were told that they didn't give AAA rates on the weekend (that may be so, but I never heard of that before). On a positive note, the people working behind the front desk - both in the evening when we checked in and in the morning when we checked out - were extremely pleasant.

Rooms are way overpriced, in my opinion. I paid around $95 (with tax) for one night. The rooms have plenty of space, the beds are clean and comfortable, and they have a good variety of items on their breakfast. The desk clerk was very friendly and helpful. We had driven all night, from AL, to attend my niece's wedding, at 2:00. We needed a place to get ready, and didn't know if we could get an early check-in. She got us in a room around 11:30, which gave us time to sleep an hour, then get ready for the wedding. Didn't get her name, but very thankful for her help. She even offered us breakfast when we stopped in around 7:00 am, to inquire about early check-in.

My wife and I stay at this hotel from this February only for one night (we plan to stay for more). We get to this property by recommendation of my wife relative. the thing I have to say is that I will never return here; our room was dirty, it smell like cheap disinfectant, old, bad maintained (it had stains all over the wall), the mattresses are old and uncomfortable so the sheets and covers too, the carpet is dirty with stains too, the bathroom is really old and claustrophobic with a cheap sliding door. the air conditioner is old, those not work properly ( the air smell like dirt and dust all night). The lobby, front desk and hotel exteriors are old, and not so well maintained. I have to say that the staff at the front desk both night and morning shifts (February 19-20 of 2014), were really helpful and friendly. we were planing to stay for four nights but the next morning we check out and went to another hotel. They have to do a lot to compete with other hotels of the zone, really disappointed over this stay.

Stayed there this week had a few rooms and our friends said the same thing. Don't stay here, we were trying to save money on a visit to Charleston, should have paid more for a cleaner room. Breakfast was ok, staff was friendly but no explanation why the rooms smelt.

We stayed here on our first night in town. The front desk clerk was very helpful, gave us a room and later walked down to the room to assist me with logging onto their internet access. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. It was quiet. Some of the wallpaper in the room was peeling away in the corners. The area is loaded with restaurants for both breakfast and dinner within walking distance and farther down the street.

We came into town late and needed to stay a night before our cruise left. The lady at the front desk was very nice. We received our key and went to room 124 and when we opened the door it smelled of mildew. It was all over the ac the walls and bathroom. The carpet and bedding were damp and the bathroom was dirty. The shower door didn't close. I was afraid to touch anything but it was all we could find but I will never go back. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone!

I booked the Sleep Inn in Summerville for a one night pre-cruise stay. The location was perfect; right off the interstate with a shopping center, a Walmart and plenty of restaurants within a very short distance of the hotel (including Sticky Fingers, our favorite restaurant to visit when we're in South Carolina). The drive to Charleston and the cruise port was only 15-20 minutes and I paid way less for our rooms than I could find anywhere in Charleston. The rooms were clean and provided what we needed between a long drive and the start of our vacation.
