“Great”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

Thoroughly enjoyed our family trip to this historical attraction. Amazingly knowledgable staff, very well kept grounds and organized trip. More than one visit may be needed to get all pictures and read all information provided at this attraction. There is a lot to learn here. More for teens and older our preteens lost their attention span quickly. Definitely bring snacks and drinks in a bag and eat before going. Also best on a good weather day and wear comfy shoes and clothes.

“Great Way to Spend a Day”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

One of the best experiences in terms of historical learning experience. They have a great informational museum at the visitor center where you buy tickets -- well worth the time to educate yourself on the story of Fort Sumter. Also a very nice ferry ride!

“White Sand!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

So the beach is very beautiful with white almost powder like sand. Do not travel off trail as they have cactus and they will stick to you like an AZ cactus will if you get into them. The water is accessible and there is alot of grass for picnics. Not very private right off the main trail of course, but miles to wander and like I said the sand is great! Feels so great between the toes. The history is great too.

“Civil War history, firsthand.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

The ruins of Ft. Sumter are a time capsule of the civil war. Knowledgable Park rangers describe the history of this significant battle site.

“A slice of history”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

Interesting place to visit and learn a bit about the Civil War, or "The recent unpleasantness". The ferry ride is worth it alone and the contents of the Fort certainly worthy of a visit.
