Had our second dinner here tonight and the food was amazing. The East Side was really crying out for a good American restaurant. The only other place on this side of town that I like is Gerhard's. The menu at Cribbs is really varied and everything is done well. I think there were friend oysters the first time we went but they took them off. BRING THEM BACK! They were great. I know - just fried oysters, but I swear they were better than usual.
Can tell this place is still going through some growing pains though (hostess took forever to figure out where to seat us in a half empty room, server had to read some of the specials off her book, manager is still doing that unnecessary "how is everything here" routine, corrugated metal in the ladies room still has price tags on it, lol). But I'm a former waitress so I'm SUPER picky. The staff have their hearts in it though.
So glad this place is open and it's sure to be a hit for a long time. Really worth going. OH - and reprint the menu! It's hard to read :)
