I am a big foodie, but can't always get into downtown Greenville. When that happens, but I want "upscale" good food, I head to Stella's. Their restaurant is based on a local-foods concept, so there are a lot of fresh, local ingredients added into the menu, be it fruit, vegetables, or even meats and grains. Always interesting items on the menu, which is also changing to reflect fresh in-season items. My favorite used to be the stuffed quail with fried shrimp, but I haven't seen it on the menu lately. The little cheese-grit cakes which come as a side to many dishes is also awesome and can be ordered as an additional side. Shrimp and grits were good the last time I was there. They also make a blackberry drink that I am fond of, and I think Mondays and Tuesdays they were doing half-price wines.
