Stopped here for the first time on my trip to Florida. Was welcomed when entering by two staff members. They seemed very knowledgeable and curtious. Room was clean and easily assessable. Prices were very reasonable and a great restaurant within a short walk. Good free breakfast in the morning. W were impressed so we stopped here again on the way back home. It was just the same on our 2nd stay.

This was our first time staying here and we arrived at 3:30, about an hour an a half past check-in time. We were given a room on the top floor, and after 2 trips up and down the stairs we were met by the maid informing us that our room had not yet been cleaned. We went back down to the front desk, to tell them the room was not clean. The guy fiddled around on the computer, and then assigned us another room, without an apology. We went back up to our old room only to find out we'd been locked out, so we went back down to the front desk...fuming! This time the guy did offer an apology, probably after looking at my husbands face! It took almost 40 minutes from the time we arrived, and 7 times up and down the stairs, to finally get settled into our room. Definitely didn't make for a good first impression!

Now for the room. It was a very spacious corner room right off the atrium, with a king sized bed, and a kitchenette area It was clean, but it was horrible stuffy. The air had not been left on, so it took a little while before we were comfortable. There were 2 doors, so you had to make sure that the safety latch wasn't on if you planned to come in from the other side. We learned that the hard way.

The breakfast area was very full at 6 the next morning. There were tables for 4, and then a bar area with single seating for people who were alone. There was a single man reading a newspaper at a table for 4, he wasn't eating, or even drinking coffee. People were almost finished eating at the table next to him, and offered us their table, but we said we'd eat out by the pool. We saw several more people go in for breakfast, but most came back out as there were no seats available. When we were finished we took our trash back into the breakfast room, and that man was still sitting at the table reading his paper! There was an employee looking after the breakfast area, but apparently he didn't ask him to make room for people that were trying to eat! There were plenty of chairs around the pool area, or even the seating area in the lobby that would have been more appropriate for him to sit and read.

Hopefully if we stay here again, we'll get a clean room, and be able to stay put!!

I read some of the negative reviews and I couldn't disagree more. This hotel is right beside the Interstate. The staff was incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make sure our bridal party from out of town had everything they needed. I had one of the interior suite rooms and enjoyed my stay, and would definitely stay here again even though it needs updates. In this economy a lot of smaller hotels need updates. Individuals aren't the only ones hurting.

People who have complained about price apparently haven't checked into a new hotel in the last ten years with the same amenities.

Now, having said that, if you are looking for a 4 or 5 star new hotel with no issues don't stay here.

The bed was ok and the shower clean but some rust around bath doors and carpet filthy. Toilet ran all night. Wi-fi easily accessed. Desperately in need of renovations. Room was overpriced for what we got..

I have stayed at this hotel several times in the past with warm memories. The staff has always treated us like favorite family coming home to visit. This trip I did notice new faces but they still have the warm and caring attitude. They go above and beyond to ensure a great stay. And the renovations were a huge surprise. Beautiful was the immediate thought. We had heard the changes were coming but WOW! From the new look in lobby, business area, and roomy and cheerful breakfast area, new work out area; enhanced a good clean hotel. We can only say job well done. We will continue to stay and will tell all who travels this way the place to stay. Nice choices to eat close by. Can't go wrong....

Room Tip: Rooms on backside quieter.

My wife and I could not have been more satisfied. Great, clean rooms, indoor pool and great breakfast. We were quite surprised at the quality of the accommodations. Most of all was the friendly and helpful service. One of the housekeepers came by the room early in the evening to be sure we had everything and invited us to call should we need anything. Very convenient to the exit ramp. There was a very nice restaurant adjacent that was first class. Room rates at the Comfort were very reasonable. The beds were premium grade and there were down pillows. You can't beat this motel for class, cleanliness and service.

Room Tip: We liked the rooms facing the indoor pool and atrium. It was also handy to the new exercise room wi...

We were in town for the weekend for a funeral. Our room was outdated and filthy. We got extra towels and laid all over the floor as we were afraid to walk on the carpet without shoes. When we got there we immediately went to the dollar store for disinfectant and cleaning supplies. (Lysol...bleach....comet....pine sol and ammonia etc..) The funeral was the day after our arrival. After the funeral we changed clothes and immediately left for home. (14 hrs. away) We dared not stay another night in that place. I would NEVER stay at the comfort Inn in Ridgeland South Carolina ever again. The only thing pleasant about our stay was the front desk staff.

Room Tip: Keep driving.
