We come here from time to time for tent camping. There are a few sites with actual tent pads, so you don't have to sleep on gravel. The rangers are nice and, in addition to the camping, there is great hiking in the area. When it's warm enough, the lake is good for paddling and swimming and the small swimming hole at the start of Carrick Creek Trail is good for the kids, too.
You'll want to bring food, because there is only one restaurant nearby and no grocery stores.
