I actually mentioned this little piece of heaven on my review of the Brookgreen Gardens, but this little restaurant is deserving of a review all its own.
THE FOOD - 10/10
In a word... amazing. My husband and I ate here for lunch one sunny afternoon and we quite enjoyed ourselves. We shared a cup of white bean chili which was amazingly good- savory and just enough meat-to-bean-to-cheese ratio to make everything marry together nicely. For lunch my husband ordered the shrimp & grits, while I had a french dip sandwich. My sandwich wasn't fatty in the least, the au jus wasn't too salty, the bread was incredibly fresh and my cucumber w/ tomato 'salad' was crisp and wonderful. My husband's own plate was wonderfully creamy and packed with flavor- all of the things you want from good shrimp n' grits, right? I told my husband that I would have come back to this restaurant just for the food- even if I didn't come to see the gardens!
THE SERVICE - 10/10
Our waitress was very pleasant, enthusiastic and she smiled quite a lot. The hostess was prompt in seating us, and overall it's the sort of service you would want from a small restaurant such as the Pavilion. No complaints here!
