Driving through the entry gate, you see immeditaley how this course sets itself apart from others in the area. The tree-lined drive into the clubhouse area was awesomley beatiful even in the winter with moss draped oak forming arches all the way in. Like driving into a cathedral of golf.
The staff were friendly and courteous and attentive to our needs. There was a rare frost delay the day we were there, and the staff did a great job insuring everyone who had a tee time got out as quickly as possible without hurrying anyone.
There wasn't a hole on the course that didn't have character and each was memorable.
Although all holes on the course were terrific, the 18th was the most memorable to me. On the approach, you have a shot over the canal with seemingly miles of marshland beside it, with the plantation style clubhouse looming in the background and a lengthy green bunkered from behind with flower beds behind as well. Truly a beautiful setting for finishing a round of golf.
The pro shop had a nice selection, and the staff was great, staying well after dark to allow us to shop for souvenir clothing or other items.
All in all, a great golf experience I'd recommend to anyone, and a bargain compared to other "golf meccas" in the country.
