My first visit to Nosh was for Sunday Brunch today and we certainly plan to return to this top-notch restaurant. The restaurant is pleasantly eclectic with lots of exposed brick and white leather inside an old house in The Hammock Shops on Pawleys Island. We started off right with a Make-your-own Bloody Mary. Clever idea: the waiter brings a glass of ice and a small glass of vodka; you take your glass to a table in the bar area and add whatever you want from a large choice of tomato juices, horseradish, Tabasco, Worcestershire, pickled onions, etc. This was followed by a ham and asparagus omelette, with grits, potatoes, and fruit for my companion, while I had fried green tomatoes with a creamy shrimp sauce with andouille sausage and a side dish of grits. Everything was delicious, especially the combination of flavors in my shrimp sauce, plus the stoneground grits were Low Country creamy perfection. The only thing we questioned was offering potatoes AND grits with the omelette. A choice of one would have been fine.
Service was cordial, prompt, and efficient. We were asked several times by the waiter and the owner(manager?) if everything was to our satisfaction. Prices were reasonable. All in all, this was an excellent dining experience, and I strongly recommend that among the many good choices in the Pawley's Island area you make a real effort to try Nosh. I think you'll be delighted.
