Our family was staying at Pawley's Island for the week and decided to take the Salt Marsh tour since it was so close by. To avoid heat, we decided on the 9am tour, which had it's pros and cons. The morning tour had low tide so we didn't get to go out to the ocean, which was a little disappointing, but got more of a marsh-worthy tour this way as well- seeing lots of birds and snails. The kids all got out to climb in the pluff mud, which was an adventure. I was grateful for the fact that there was no charge for the kids since they were all under 50lbs. Paul was our tour guide, and he knew lots about the local eco system, which was great for the kids. Overall the family had lots of fun. If we come back to Pawley's, we will definitely come back for a Kayak tour, but will probably do the Cypress Swamp tour next time- or maybe Georgetown harbor? Glad there is more than one tour to choose from.
